Another audi for me ;) (a4 this time)

So its my birthday next week and i have decided to get myself a present to get my hands dirty.

Its a 2000 b5 1.8t Quattro in black with tan interior.... and i only paid $850 for it, score!

So i found a car on gumtree, had a look at it and i liked it... was told that the cam belt had broken so i could have just changed the engine, easy...
But on inspection the cam belt was fine so i have the funny idea that its an easy fix...

So made the plan to get her running and build this one for dome track time and fun...

Another track build. Me like it You sure it is a quattro though? Don't think they made them with tan interior in the UK.

He used $, so i guess hes not in the UK

That is cheap... From memory of living in Oz, basically ANYTHING with a rego is instantly 1000 bucks!

Be interested to see what the damage is if not cam belt. . . Good luck getting to the bottom of that!

Could be oil pump failure.

The person i bought it off said it just stopped... running totally fine and no explosion or bang or smoke... just stopped running...

Even if its the engine i could just throw another one in and have some fun

Well day one...
Started the ball running hard and stripped as much as i could off in the little time i had...
Got down the the crank and turned her with a socket and.... it turned!!!
Now going to change all the belts and check the timing... then see what happens...

Whip the plugs out and stick a rod down the hole and see where the pistons are. I had 1 and 4 up then 2, 3 and 4 up, kind of indicating something was a bit wrong lol
