S3 and tunnels

Not really worth it in the S3 to be honest, the exhaust sound is pretty sedated in my opinion, most of the noise comes from under the bonnet, and lets be honest that's just how it is on a 4 pot 2 litre turbo. Different story with an after market turbo-back though

After hearing my car doing launch control starts from outside the car last night I'd have to disagree. I was surprised it was so loud from what I'd heard in the car

I think the S3 sounds decent actually, my car with nigh on 21k miles seems to get louder and louder.. sometimes quite a shock when i forget then drive through a built up area and sound reverberates against buildings etc. With the manual box there is a nice point when accelerating normally just before changing gear that really brings the exhaust note out and loud.. have had plenty people turn and stare to see what it is..
gosh I miss my car now. Still in the garage and i have an old grandads A6 as courtesy.. not sure it's like for like with S3 but can't complain too much I guess..

Absolutely mate, the exhaust is plenty impressive enough..................definitely a head-turner around town

A6.......oh dear mate boring old lump that one...............hope you get yours back soon

Funny, my exhaust note has got spicier since I fitted the M-Cantronic. And I'm not the only one who's noticed!
Love the whoosh from the VWR too, subtle unlike the P-Flo on my old car but definitely audible. Gonna have to go through Cuilfail soon now!

I agree, I am not sure I would want my exhaust to be too much louder then it already is in Dynamic. Maybe its an age thing (mine!), but its plenty loud enough for me...

I have to go to Eastbourne for a meeting in early Jan, so I will make the odd run through Cuilfail on the way back. Last time I was down there I had my wife in the car, and although she is a car person, she had enough after we went through it 3 times!
