Can someone have a look through vagcom to see if they can turn off the exhaust sound in the speakers assuming it has it on the S3.

Woah there is so much which is adjustable! Was thinking of turning off the headlight sprayers just the other day, ill have to have a good look at this code and figure out what can be done

Nice list - thanks !!

Auto front PDC activation is a good one to add.

That would be great to have

Enable automatic activation of parking tones when approaching obstacle
Select STG 10 (parking aid)
STG access authorization - Select function 16
Enter access code 71679
STG coding -> Select function 07
Select Byte 3
Enable Bit 4

It kicks in at around 2ft (0.6m) away from the obstacle in front so won't annoy when in slow moving traffic. It won't change to the graphical display you have to listen out for it. One of the more useful VCDS mods in my opinion.

Thats a great touch that it doesn't pop up the graphic, i prefer listening to the beeps anyway

Does this mean the actual sensors are permanently on, or does the car know you are parking, like being in 1st gear and at certain speed under 15kph for instance?

It is a good Q and one I can't honestly answer - it would make sense if there was a gear/speed factor taken into account.

You need to test it out, drive @20mph in 2nd gear and get someone to walk out in front of it, see if it beeps?* :laugh:

*Try tailgating a mate @20+ like 1ft away and see if it beeps.

Just tested "Fan Speed in Auto Mod" on my S3 and it does not work...
Does someone else tested it with success ?

Tried that some time ago with no luck - it was quite good on the Leon I had.

Hi Guys

Has anyone completed any VCDS adaptions on later 2015 cars??

Are these locked down differently from earler 13/14 cars?? Failed to do simple things such as Temp gauge mods etc

Also does MMI specification / lack of Tech packs / Sat Nav etc have any influence on what can / cant be modded- ie Alarm sounds / Wipers etc etc.

Thx

Main issue on the newest model (MY15/16) is that Rosstech may not have compiled a label file for any new revisions of hardware. Everything else coding wise is usually the same, you'll just have to wait for VCDS update until they make label files for the newer controllers.

Ok thx. I guess will have to try again after an update then. Could not get anything to work on a 2015 Oct car. Thx

Just done some checking and using controller 09 as an example:

2013 = Part No SW: 5Q0 937 084 AA HW: 5Q0 937 084 AA - BCM MQBAB H H14 0112
2014 = Part No SW: 5Q0 937 084 AA HW: 5Q0 937 084 AA - BCM MQBAB H H14 0112
2015 = Part No SW: 5Q0 937 084 AJ HW: 5Q0 937 084 AJ - BCM MQBAB H H18 0137

Ok thx , so am I right in thinking that things are a little different on the very latest cars? Or will a VCDS update eliminate these issues?

A VCDS update might resolve the issues but in the past modules with different part numbers often support a reduced or enhanced feature set, if that makes sense, so it might in fact turn out that the "feature" is no longer possible in the newer hardware.

There are what I call "coding conditions" to consider also. Some Adaptations and or Codings only work when the following conditions are met:
  • Ignition in first position and doors closed
  • Ignition in first position and doors locked
  • Engine running and doors closed
  • Engine running and doors locked
  • Insert further combinations here...
  • MMI Unit is Reset following coding

Thx DJAlix ...Wow i had no idea there were also coding conditions as well: Doors closed open - engine on / off etc etc.

So many factors , are these noted where each of these play a part, ie mod will not work if condition XXX is not met.?

Thank you as always for your wisdom.

Never really seen any specific notes around "conditions" for the 8V to be honest, just suggestions from RossTech and testing by myself. All the mods I post up are completed with the engine running unless otherwise stated as my VCDS and VCP testing sessions tend to go on for a long time and I have no access to mains power while in the car.
