RS4 to A4 start button conversion.

Saw this video the other day and was thinking about doing it on my avant, anyone done the mod on here, if so do you have any tips on performing the mod and the cost.

had a look on the web but not much came up as far as diy fitting etc, a few broken links etc to install guides but thats about all.

I've a mod I've installed for clients, just remember the key still needs to be used to turn ignition on, we can quote if interested.

I did a cheaper version to mine a couple of years ago (too tight for rs4 button) cheap button and relay kit off eBay, did it myself it was very easy. The button is perfect for the fag lighter hole. I'm Considering changing to the rs4 button now I'm slightly older and wiser.
But you will use it everyday for the first week, twice in the second week and once a month after that... handy if you stall your car tho as you don't have to turn the key back to start the engine.

What's the point? Still need to put key in and turn so saves one more push of the key??? Total waste of money surely?

It all boils down to when you buy new shoes...

If you wait until you need new shoes to purposely go to buy some. You see some that look comfortable and think I'll get those, then the start button mod is not for you.

If you could do with a new pair of shoes and see some that cool and think I'll get those! Then the start button mod you should consider! (Tho you will never use it after a month)

But if you have no intentions of buying any new shoes but pass a shop and think, wow they look cool I need a pair! Then for you my friend the start button is a must!!!

Let's be honest, do we actually need any of the mods we do?....
As they say on big brother "you decide"

Don't watch tv but that's me. Shoes? If I see new shoes I want I buy and keep current shoes on shoe rack, unless they aren't even wearable for odd jobs round the gaff.
If we analise your shoe theory, surely you wouldn't buy the new shoes, you would go home and colour in your current shoes to be a poor imitation of the new shoe, just like adding a start button to your non racing car is copying a new fancier line of vehicle?
