What have you done today?

Finally managed to give the S3 a full VCDS scan and the only fault was the alarm battey , happy days got one sitting just have to get round to fitting it. Next up figure out more advanced checks with VCDS.

I drove my S3 for the first time last night since ADI, it feels slow! :(

It needs tuning up badly! Not helped that my new workhorse has 370odd bhp atm! Lol

Tipex Express was 217bhp using standard TIP on RTechs rollers, have since fitted 80mm TIP, so around the 225 region on the standard 210 map.

BiTurbo now has 370bhp and 750nm torque, apparently, not verified.

Dropped my car off for full paint correction and detail, cannot wait to pick it up at the end of the week. Pics too follow!

It's the beginning of bolt-on's - IE catch can in. (but hidden because i'm in Oz)

Had a play with vcds, just getting to grips with it.

Turned the Haldex pump on which was working:sunglasses:

right i managed to get a spare hour today so i took my bumper and drivers side headlight off to investigate, to which i found the usual .......some idiot has been at it, they fitted the clip wrong and basically snapped a leg on the clip the joiner was basically 90% on its way out...

so i took it all off lined it up tidy pinched the clip from the asv/egr housing (as its will be easier to replace the broken one when i get a replacement)
connected it all back up and hey presto leak has gone, running great again and back to normal power.....oh and i also came across this mess.....intercooler was caked in crud probably 2/3rds of it was covered which obviously didn't help,so a bit of mr muscle cleaned it up a treat.

Had her 100k service today, oil + filter, Haldex oil + filter, gear box oil, fuel filter. and new drop links all round, my guy says everything looks good and the fluid he dropped wasn't looking to bad! Seems to handle a bit firmer now as well.
Also got a work van so she won't see much road this winter!

Today I got a call from my mechanic who was ranting on how difficult everything to do on the S3 is, and how it's the most cramped, inefficient, most difficult turbo car he's ever worked on. He then advised me to buy an Evo or STI and hung up the phone.

Guess he was having a bad day. :)

One of the lads from our local club sadly (and far too young) died last week so we had a little get together, drove to a beach, let of some fireworks and raise some money to pay towards his funeral, always awesome to see people come together for a good cause, even in the hammering wind and rain.

Also found out the custom 3" system i had built at the start of the year gives out some awesome pops and bangs if im feeling like being a hooligan.

I had some binding on the o/s/r wheel.
Went down to TPS on Saturday and got discs, pads and a caliper seal kit, plus i got TWR guides and stainless bleed nipples.Painted the calipers and carriers and put them all on the car and bled the brakes, now much better and the handbrake feels great too.

Love these cars, always a job to do on them:smiley:

"Always a job to do on them...." Lol

I fully agree. Literally never stop on mine. Replacing, Upgrade and then projects. Hahaha

1.5" runners? If so I need some in my life.

Of course :)

A couple more now that I have added the finishing touches ;)
