What have you done to your 8V today?

Exactly, not to mention that most of the time the bumpers are sprayed in another factory or even country and shipped in!

You're right - only high end oems slave the composite panels through paint otherwise they're sequences to the production line and built up from a kit of parts.

I must say myn are almost perfect
But it's the worst colour for scratches , can't win

Unfortunately I can see it..... That glacier one is awful I couldn't live with that, I'm pleased that as of yet it isn't noticeable on my Sepang although I'm struggling to see past my first scratch still!

......ok, after checking out the 3 pics again I can see what you mean on the grey S3 but definitely not on the silver or glacier ones.

The tail gate on the glacier one is a different colour completely to the rear bumper, and the grey one if you look at the 3/4 panel its a different shade to the rear bumper only slightly though

This is utter dweeb juice, I have an Ibis and I've checked thoughly and its fine.

Yeah OK it is! I've only worked in car production for 20 years...what would I know? :p The job I do 'to notice defects' must just be made up to keep me employed :D Like I say it's harder to see on white! ;)

No good asking me mate..........I'm still finding my way! Never bothered with any of his malarky with previous cars!! lol

Jassy prefers the Gtechniq kit but it's fairly laborious to apply..............and honestly I just can't be ***** with it. Autoglym gets consistently excellent reviews so can't go too far wrong I wouldn't have thought ;)

Used it a few years ago, leaves a very nice shine and it's easy to apply and remove but lightly goes it on the door panels, else a build up could, too much eads to residue /leads to the holographic effect
Remember to use your tire gel mate, and not yer hair gel lol

I polished up the tailpipes with one of my new Cape Cod Fine Metal Polish cloths. Really did a great job, good results fast although a bit more time would have had them back to new!

Mine were minging mate, haven't done them since I did the first detail back in June! This stuff brought them up like new and apparently also leaves a sealant on the metal so should help keep them good. These pipes are notorious for tarnishing so definitely keep on top of them!
