So, I've posted on a couple of other places and a couple of people have pointed me here.

I have a slightly more noticeable than normal 'jolt' going from D2 to D1 in full auto. It is less of an issue in manual. A friend scanned for faults and came up with the attached image.

What I'm wondering is whether this would constitute a clutch failure and a need for replacement, or whether it can be 'fixed' by a software update and a relearn (or whatever its called)?

Any guidance gratefully received.

Not come across that fault before, have you googled the codes?
What's your reverse like? Does it fell like it loses torque?
I doubt software update would do anything. You've got an old mech unit there 8K0...
If it is a clutch it doesn't mean a new box, unless you have a good warranty which would cover it.
3D Transmissions in Reading just replaced both of my clutches as were worn/burnt....

Reverse feels OK. There's a little pulsing of the throttle on light pedal up to around 30mph.

Don't know about good warranty. I've got an RAC warranty the mentions clutches as covered. But, it would depend on proper servicing. I've done an oil change, but I need to check if the first one was done. Otherwise I'll have a hard time.

How much was it to change the clutch pack (if you don't mind)?

Unlikely it'll cover burnt clutches anyway, they only tend to cover mechanical failure, like it breaking or cracking, not the west and tear of the clutch, that's what stung me.
It cost £2.4k as its two clutches to change, oils, plus lots of labour....
What's the mileage?

77k

I had one done at 72k when I bought the car. Can't see one from Aberdeen Audi when they had the car at 35k. Its had the software update too. Garage going to try redoing the Adaption run

So Adaption done. Now to see if there's an improvement on the run from Edinburgh to Perth tomorrow. Garage said he thinks its better.

Going with sort of.

Anything D3 and upwards is much smoother. I can hardly feel the changes either up or down.

Downside is that the jerking is still there (occasionally) in D2-D1.

Worse though is the off throttle pulsing in D1 when moving with near stationary traffic.

Heading back to see the guy on Tuesday. Maybe another Adaption run using some different options. But ..... the feeling is that we're heading to a mechatronic replacement.

Good news is a warranty limit well north of doing this fix. Better make sure they play fair though.
