Mono.pur

Tested the *** on two demos over a week. Audi dealers work hard here

Edit - we are lucky here as dealers fight for your business. Had the cars to evaluate over days, not just sitting in a showroom demo like some :)

So currently 'slumming' it with a Yamaha YSP2200 soundbar/sub :( Very good soundbar but no replacement for a dedicated system.

Oh the shame of it :p

Put your foot down. Are you a man or  :p

For all the talk of B&O, at the end of the day, the car is not a brilliant listening environment, even worse external isolation, and speaker placement is always a packaging compromise.

The B&O (and ***) in the 8V is just not in the same league as say, a Mark Levinson system in a Lexus (@jaypers777 ), but I guess it's priced accordingly for a small hatchback (and Saloon).

Haha. Don't start on MLs in Lexus. Best man (now lives in Tassie) had to get the fronts replaced, the amps replaced within the first 12 months. Sounded average (his words) compared to the stocker in his work Commodore. Over rated much :D

Loving the lonely pussy btw.

Hate to break it to you Warwick but Kitty passed away a few pages back................ ;)

I like to think I'm a man of reasonable life experience but there's only so much pussy I can handle :)

Only real ones.

Fake synthetic ones just plummet to the floor.

Fake ones are the best type - no need to feed them, no need to groom them, no need to replace them.

Edit - love the mono.pur. Really adds to the ambience. Must suck balls not to have it.

If only mono, pur could cure or ieven improve the driving dynamics of the S3........ Sadly, fake or real, it does neither.

Shame.

Actually, driving dynamics is a measurable relative comparison - eg: Car A corners better than Car B (eg more grip, higher traction, more "g's") - all measurable criteria.

An optional lonely kitty definitely must detract from a good roadholding car.

Always the same story with Audi, lovely interiors, driving dynamics, not so good (with a few exceptions).

If lonely kitty truly did improve the Audi's drive - I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes.

That does depend if you have an el-cheapo AV sub in your lounge, or a proper REL sub like me :p

I have a REL T9 sub, 5. 1 Focal Dome satellite speakers including its own Sub, 4 B&W M1i front high speakers, rear high speakers,9-2 to cut to the chase, in me bedroom, the REL sub is amazing and has awesome power and build quality, l only switch it on when playing blurays, keep the Focal Dome on for casual viewing, then both for movies
Pioneer LX57 THX Reciever,Pioneer LX58 Bluray player would love another REL T9 sub to replace the Focal sub....but she and the neighbours wouldn't like it lol, going to replace the Reciever soon for a Pioneer LX58 Dolby Atmos DTS:X receiver as more encoded Dolby Atmos blurays are coming out now
Just thought l would share my second passion after me car

Sone great kit above Guys :sunglasses:

My home speakers are B&W MT60 D with PV1D sub.

They are a good compromise on space vs looks.

Well that's me totally outgunned on the home cinema!! :)

Just an Onkyo Receiver, missions and paradigm sub before I got lumbered with this poxy soundbar!! Packed a decent wallop and the floorstanders were superb for music, really fast and detailed.

Not in the same league as my good friends above though :(

Hey mate a sound system is only as good as one "Listeners"...lol and its surroundings like Veeeight said,l have all that kit in a 4x4 square metre bedroom/man den with crap acoustics,l would love a set of floorstanders again, but cant due to the lack of man den space lol
l got Jordan one of the Yamaha soundbars this year for his birthday....sounds awesome...he loves it....and that's the point, if your really happy with something whether it be a car or sound system...that's what matters....I personally think this forums unrest has a lot to do with Middle aged peeps going through there Mid-Life crisis...lol

Ps....Xmas is coming up treat yourself...poor jassy wont....as l am on that other mission

I totally agree..............although sometimes I'm afraid it comes down to compromises with er inside of the doors!! lol

I can't complain, had a shedload of expensive kit over the years.....................but those compacto B&W's have definitely got me thinking as it was the floorstanders she really hated..............could be on to something there ;)

Yep KEF's have been on my radar for sometime mate :)

My brother was offered a job at Richer Sounds last week and the dopey muppet turned it down!! lol Very competitive on the sales side apparently which wasn't really his bag even though he's fantastic with customers and probably would've walked it but hey ho.

......thanks for the offer, I'll probably take you up on that sometime...................Fax?? WTF, do people still use them?!! lol

I did demo the kefs and they were very good too but the B&W's edged it for me.

The ones I have now are my 3rd set in 12 years and prior to that I had Missions.

My old ones fetched a good rate on eBay too.

For a discreet set up with good sonics and base they work for me a treat.

Defo look at the kefs too though 100%.

Totally agree mate they aren't cheap and possibly are a tad over priced but .....

I previously had the gen.1 speakers and gen.1 sub which I was really pleased with and made over half my money back on eBay after 4+ years use which I thought was terrific.

My previous Sub also had a catastrophic failure out of warranty and B&O supplied me a brand new one free of charge so that incident kinda bought me into the brand big time - great customer service over & beyond.

With service like that it does give me confidence in the brand and whilst ever they meet my needs I'm happy to stick with B&O.

Kef were my second choice though - equally great brand. I last upgraded 3 years ago so they may even edge the B&O's now. The B&O sub is a great bit of kit though. Even against 2 Kef subs it stood its own on a direct comparison - tbh both systems really good and you won't go wrong with either.

There is some great choice on AV kit though ... a lot easier than buying cars lol :)

I'm hoping it's not high maintenance lol.

My last car was black and that drive me mad trying to keep it clean - slightest drop of rain and all good work undone.

Went estoril blue with current car and whilst I love the colour it's a very dark blue so almost as hard to look after as black.

I was hoping that nardo would be much better being a solid light grey.
I do occasionally think about floret silver though as I like that too lol.

It's been on order since early August but I still have no build date - I ideally wanted it for the new reg in March 16 so thought 7 months was fine. Dealer is on the case but I'm not convinced March delivery is viable.

Part ex price etc is fixed so worst case I will run round in my S5 a bit longer so whilst i'd prefer to have the RS sooner it's not the end of the world.

Don't .... Don't .... Lol .... all this waiting is giving me too much time to ponder things like paint colours :)

I've already changed my order from Matt titanium alloys to anthracite high gloss black.

The other good thing with nardo is that it's exclusive to the RS3 (other than RS6 etc but no other A3 / S3) so that makes it a bit more unique - plus it's Free !!!! Yes from Audi lol ... & most important I do really like it.

These images sold me too - with black wheels and black pack ....
