Climate control stuck on auto

hey guys,my climate control started playing up recently,ie not turning on or not having any control over any functions,but as of the last few days it's been stuck on auto and won't turn off,even when I pull the fuse for the fan the unit itself is still doing its thing albeit without the fan operating...any idea if this is a kaputt unit or do my woes lie elsewhere?
 
Sounds like its knacked.

Try whipping the battery off for half an hour and see if that helps.

I've got a couple facelift ones here if you need one.

Cheers mate,I may very well take you up on that.ill try disconnecting the battery later and see how it goes
 
Ok tried taking the battery of this evening for a bit with no joy,looks like it's a replacement for me,what kinda money have you on a climate control unit?​
 
None of the buttons are stuck in are they?
Mine did a similar thing because one was stuck and making contact it disabled all the other buttons
Stripped it down and cleaned all the gunk out and it worked fine

I thought the same at first mate because the same thing was happening when I first bought the car,but when you'd try to push let's say the demister button to turn it off there would be no audible click and it would disable the use of any other button for at least 5 minutes until the button worked itself free!whereas this time around all the buttons feel right and move freely but have no change on the operation of the unit
 
Sorry! Looks like it'll be a fiver or so to post so thats fine, but i've not manage to actually get it boxed up yet. Got some other parts to sort out as well so i'll get them sorted tomorrow.

All resolved,it was the unit itself that had had enough,thanks again to Aragorn for getting me out of another spot of bother :rockwoot::rockwoot:
