What's the best clutch and flywheel for my Audi s3 8p sportback running 367bhp 370ftlbs?
Thanks in advance

If you want an everyday driver the Sachs is excellent.

If you need something unbreakable then a Spec Stg3+ is perfect.

I've read so many threads on clutches lately that I'm so confused lol. I think the Sachs is my best bet but I'm not going to say I drive like a grandad everywhere so I'm guessing it can cope well if you do out your foot down?

I've had the Sachs for a good while before having to swap to a Spec.

If you bed the Sachs in properly(i.e. don't punish it as soon as you have it fitted) and don't go in for drag style starts, then it will work well and last.
Mine got to around 400lbs before it started to slip, which isn't bad for a clutch rated to 400lbs.
Also, you can keep the stock DMF,so it won't rattle like an SMF setup will.

The Spec Stg3+ is for those who need something that won't give in....it's light, easy to use around town(it's not a paddle type clutch so it won't "grab"),but there is a good amount of chatter at idle.

One other thing, whatever you may decide, avoid paddle clutches as they are generally pigs to use around town....the Scahs and Spec are both fine.

What about the helix clutch aswell? Anyone got any info on them.

I'm guessing with the spec stg3+ you'll need to buy the flywheel which they recommend aswell?

Paddle type clutch.

Some people are OK with them for road use, most are not.

They do also sell an organic plate clutch but the torque rating is nothing special.

If you end up looking at anything with a paddle clutch, take a good look at the Spec Stg3+ first...it's a full face carbon metallic clutch and as such will cope well with being slipped a bit around town and will do so without juddering or grabbing.

Yes you would.

I think most people would agree that the Sachs is a very good all-round daily use clutch.
It's light,easy to use,and will cope with over 400lbs.

It offers a lot of advantages over a paddle clutch for daily use,and if you need more, then I would say the Spec is a very good choice.

TSR have some very good deals for forum members, and gave me some good advice a while back too.

Sorry just 1 more question lol what difference does the SMF make compared to the DMF?

For high torque applications an SMF flywheel is generally better but at the expense of some vibration at idle.

These Spec clutches is it a stg3+ one I need or is stg3+ bullet proof as you said? Also what material of flywheel did you go for Alex?

I've used a Spec Stg3+ for the last 3 yrs.

It's a full face Carbon metallic clutch with a steel flywheel.
I chose steel for durability and toughness.

This clutch is rated to 570lbs and is holding up fine in my car with 540lbs currently.

That's way more than most will ever use and is with a built engine and an 8 injector system with a Syvecs ECU.

On there website it only lets me select 2009 model? Mines a 2010 which I know are the same but I don't want to be ordering something from America to find out its wrong lol

To be certain,I would check with either Backdraft or AMDTuning.
