now this is second hand info, I have no idea if it's correct but it's what I have been told.

On a visit to Audi there was a number of owners kicking off about their cars now being down on power after the recall. One guy put his car on a dyno the claimed 130 BHP was now 103bhp, he said the cars has no guts now and hates it.
There was another guy that said his has 170bhp before, had no idea what it has now but was flat and had no get up and go.

The guy at Audi said its about 50/50 so far, if your a driver or have one of the higher power cars you may not be happy. If your a school mum or drive one of the lower power cars you may not notice.

I asked what would happen if you did not get it done, one of the owners said he was told it would move up the road tax bands. Personally I prefer the sound of that.

Sorry for the bum news if it's correct.

Nothing's been done nor announced yet about what they're going to do and nothing will be done until early/mid 2016.

what a crock of........
As stated above nothing has been done/decided yet on how the issue will be resolved.
Was that announcement made by a claims firm by any chance ?

How can it "move up the road tax bands"?
The carbon output isn't effected by the defeat software.

Just saying what I was told, two owners in the carpark at Cardiff Audi claim there cars have had new software and are down on power.

No idea on the road tax as I said just telling you what they told me.

It's going to be a bit of bhp loss but more significantly the loss of torque.

The old boy got phones from Audi to say he is getting recall done on 19/12. I asked was it for emission and he said yeah. muat double check.

Got my the dreaded letter through the other day telling me my car is affected and will be re-called in 2016.

I am happy to have the 'cheat software' removed from my car, no issues with that but I don't understand is how the car can still pass the euro emissions test with the software removed, surely it will fail??? I heard some vehicles require 'more' than just a software change/removal...

I watched the VW Emissions Scandal last night on Panorama, very interesting watching the cars being tested and how putting them out of the emissions test 'comfort zone' can vary the results sooooooo much. Some were tested from Warm, which in theory should give better results but often showed 4 times worse than from cold.

I shall wait for my re-call date but I will be asking LOTS and LOTS of questions before they do ANYTHING.

^^^^ I don't think you will be the only one asking 1000 questions what there be doing I will be for sure. I am half tempted in banging it on a rolling road before it goes in next year

When I spoke to the service tech a couple of weeks ago he couldn't tell me what the fix would be but he did say that I wouldn't have the option not to have the update, if I didn't present the car on invitation they would carry it out the next time the car went in.

Its bad enough that the VAG group have done the whole Emissions cheat thing but it looks like the follow up with the affected vehicles is going to be worse

Can't see this ending well at all for the group
