Thoughts please. The rear light on the Avant, that being the one over the load space, (and the red/white in the lid itself) have decided not to come on when the boot is opened, and the "open" warning on the DIS isn't doing its thing either.

The boot opens fine from the remote, and closes fine too. For a while, it was tending not to lock on closing, sometimes taking a couple of goes - it got squirted with various things and then behaved again, lights and DIS all being fine etc. The load space light can still be switched on manually. But nothing brings the red/white light on. That could be the bulb I guess, but as the cover is glued on I'm loath to feck it by pulling it just yet.

I'm suspecting the problem is the lock mechanism (as in, the micro-switch is fecked). What think you guys? I've yet to check the actual wiring at the hinge btw.

I had similer issues on my Cab last week. Mine was saying my boot was always open, DIS kept showing boot open 5 minutes into every drive. Alarm constantly going off because it kept thinking the boot was being opened. Boot lights wouldn't light up.

I pulled the boot lining, undid the two torx bolts on the boot catch and disconnected the rod/cable. Removed the microswitch, this was covered in all sorts of grime and grease. Cleaned it up, sprayed the connector and plug for the microswitch with wd40 put it back together and the fault has gone. Lights all working, alarm not going off, DIS working as it should. Only took 15 mins to remove and clean
