My front speakers have been blown since i bought my s3 but today the rear ones went.....

What are the best replacements?

Assuming you have bose then you need bose... bose speakers are 2ohm... you can't fit any old speaker in there

Is it worth binning the Bose and fitting different speakers wired to the headunit?

Depends on what head unit it is and if it has front speaker outputs... full bose is front/rear/sub amped... half bose is rear/sub amped... I think the head units typically have a front output direct from the unit but not sure if they need to be coded to utilise it if fully amped

You can use the preouts to power amps of course... this is how I power the system in mine of the RNS-E...

Obviously the bigger issue is that there are no direct fit speakers that I am aware of and so adaptors will be needed to fit most such as 13cm components etc

Here's what I ended up doing...

Should be able to fit whatever you like with an aftermarket unit if powering from its built in amp... I ran my full bose system off my Alpine iPod unit for a couple of years using an autoleads adaptor before changing up to after market everything

Ironically now using an OE headunit to power aftermarket amps/speakers :)
