First of all apologises for not reading all the last 40 messages. Put my sat nav on this morning for my daily drive and it came on a few times. It appears to tell me which lane to be in, generally keep left, for the next junction.
I think it's quite good, but of course I maybe totally wrong......

Problem is, for me anyway, it only appears before certain roundabouts and even when turning right where you'd need to be in the right hand lane. I've never seen it pointing right.

I drove from fife to Warwick today (370 miles) and this came on a few times.

Seems to only happen about 500yds before a roundabout.

Had the same arrow just over 400 yards away from a roundabout....that i was going straight through

The reason you see this arrow is that you have the main MMI display retracted, and you also have the POIs turned on (petrol stations) etc.

When you are about 3rd of a mile from one of these POIs it will display the arrow, left or right, to show you that you are approaching one.

Hope that clears it up.

.......if this is correct (and it certainly sounds promising) must rank as one of the most helpful first posts ever!!

Either way, welcome to the forum :)

Thanks for the suggestion, but... I don't ever retract the display and it doesn't point right to the POIs when I head in the return direction. It also only appears before certain roundabouts. I'm not dismissing the idea, I'm going to give it a try over the next couple of days, not convinced though.

surely its to tell us to go clockwise on the roundabout?

The wife thought that too. Thing is, it doesn't show up for all roundabouts, it shows well before you know a roundabout is coming then disappears 400 yards before you reach it and the DIS display of the roundabout shows the direction round the roundabout anyway. It's displayed too infrequently to be that.

Drove in France at the weekend, using the basic SD navigation, and the arrow points to the right, and only seems to appear for some roundabouts. Possibly a reminder of which way to drive round the roundabout?

I saw it all the time, I assumed it was an indicator to suggest you are leaving the road soon (since it's limited to dual carriageways).

I seemed to notice that it only appears on the DIS when approaching roundabouts. So I'm possibly assuming that it could be a kind of warning for vehicles approaching the roundabout from your left maybe? But hey, I could be totally wrong!! :grimacing:

Still no closer to finding out what the OP's arrow means but I got this yesterday when the car thought I was mysteriously off-roading .....

I had exactly the same thing on the A1065 just past RAF Lakenheath - however I think that they may have re-profiled the road which could have caused this...

I could be wrong, it was the first time in over 3 years I had driven up that way.

It was very odd - quick as a flash I moved 30ft sideways and was back on the road ! A GPS blip I guess.

Crafty shortcut through the field..............I thought you'd quit bothering sheep Rob??!!

To be fair most Sat Navs do this every now and then..............google does all sorts of random s**t on my phone. Probably just momentarily dumped a couple of satellites and couldn't get a proper fix :)
