Potential A5 help required

Hi - urgent feedback required please.

Test drove an Audi A5 3.0 TDi S line special edition (heated leccy seats, adaptive cruise, sat nav, park plus, reverse camera, dsg gearbox and b&o) in lovely condition !

59 plate ! What if anything are the weak points of these cars please
 
Compared to the 2.0tdi Quattro A4 it's flipping brilliant - sport mode = wow !!!
 
think there pretty bullet proof really, I just got an 08 3.0 tdi and love it,
id look into getting the DPF removed if I was you , its transformed mine, and I get a LOT more grunt and better mpg, without all the normal DPF wo,s
 
Great engine, just make sure it has had gearbox oil change and good service history.

What mileage and is it 3G MMI?

The s-tronic gearbox, and in particular the mechatronic unit. Earlier units had a bad design where the TCU was '******' by the oil. I don't want to dissuade you but maybe you should consider an extended warranty.
 
As above don't worry about the engine the 3.0 TDI has next to no issues compared to many other engines. DSG gearbox can cause issues but that's the same with any automatic gearbox ,they are very much more complicated than a manual so are more likely to have issues.
Gearbox oil and filter should have been changed every 40K miles.Make sure this has been done. If you decide to get a warranty make sure it's worth the paper it's written on. IMHO most warranties aren't there are so many get out clauses.
Only common issue on the engine are intake manifold flaps and usually this can be fixed for just over £30.
They can be quite nippy when tweaked and mapped :) .
