Ignoring dynamic which is perhaps reserved for those mad moments, how is your car set up for day to day driving? According to the manual comfort is for the motorway etc and auto is for day to day stuff albeit we can have custom settings too of course. I've never had so many options so end up getting confused :flushed:

Comfort steering, auto gearbox and dynamic exhaust. On motorway I always turn comfort on as it gets too loud around 120-140kmh. I use dynamic only after 9-10pm when I can use the car's dynamics.

I don't have my RS3 yet, but I use the following modes in my S3:

Efficiency - rarely used because the throttle response is too delayed
Comfort - used for long distance driving and when the girlfriend is in the car
Auto - never used
Dynamic - rarely used because the steering is far too heavy
Individual - used for day to day driving without the girlfriend (Engine/Gearbox = Auto, Steering = Comfort, Exhaust = Dynamic)

My girlfriend doesn't like the sound of the S3 exhaust in manual/sport/dynamic mode. She's going to get a shock when she hears the the sound of the sports exhaust on the RS3!

You'll be pleased to hear that there is no efficiency setting in the RS3 ;)

Always in dynamic no matter what!

although if anyones interested, I did back to back tests on a full tank of fuel in each mode. Dynamic gave me 200 miles and comfort gave me 240. I think for an extra 40 miles it really isn't worth driving like miss daisy. especially when I've spent 50k on an RS.

Does anyone know if the default settings can be changed using VCDS?

For example in Dynamic mode, changing the Steering to Comfort?

Don't think so, but then that's what Individual mode is for.

You can enable Race mode on some models, but not sure what it gains you! Never seen a way to change the parameters within the preset modes though, I had a good look a couple of years ago.

Race mode? As an addition to dynamic mode?

Yea, but don't think anyone has ever worked out what it actually does in addition to Dynamic! I would presume it is only supposed to be used on the R8 GT or maybe never made it to any production vehicle.

With or without Mag Ride?

I have Mag Ride and the steering is great in Dynamic.

From test drives I plan to set mine up with individual dynamic everything except auto on the mag ride.
Mag ride in auto reminds me of my b7 rs4 drc when it was working properly. As for steering salesman changed it to comfort to let me try it was horrible reminded me of my wife's old fiat 500 with city park lol

How does the auto mag ride work? Stiffen up if in sport mode and soft in D?

No normal driving along its quite smooth then when you load it up in the corners it stiffens so move between comfort and dynamic depending on load and steering angles I guess
