F1 season 2015

Remember it well. Pastor, unfortunately was a bit like a young Grojean in his early days. Luckily for Lewis, Pastor is too far down the field to bother him.
Looking forward to tonight. That pit straight is one long run down into turn one. Lewis to sit in behind Rosberg to get the tow and overtake into 1?

Every great driver - Senna, Prost, Mansell, Hunt, Stewart, Moss, Fangio (did I miss anyone?) - crashed out at some point due to their own mistake/eagerness! It doesn't make them any less great a driver. Verstappen has already had a few, and I'm sure he'll have plenty more! I'd even go as far as saying if they don't have the odd "off", they're not pushing hard enough.

Carlos Sainz is a very talented driver, but his team mate makes him look positively pedestrian in the same car - when he's not stuffing it into the armco.

Max is a future WC, no doubt about it. Carlos is also young enough to get into a big team. I'd still love to see Hulkenburg get into a Merc or a Ferrari. He's been bypassed a few times. We've also got Stopple Vandon (spelling?) who has won GP2 who is on the McLearn young driver programme. It's a sad day when you win the feeder series yet can't get into a seat in F1.
I think the sport is in safe hands as far as drivers go. It's just a matter of getting the right engines in and with the 2017 changes, interesting times ahead.

Championship over I'd like to see any one of:

a) all 20-drivers draw lots for both cars and grid starting positions

b) an honest reverse starting order and that obviously means the Mercedes duo at the back

c) Now that the Vulcan XH558 (what a fabulous machine) has stopped flying then one of its four Olympus engines (a spare would do) sat on one corner blasting at full chat across the corner for the duration (that would at least shut some of the commentators up)

and, it goes without saying

d) a ****** great water bowser on the opposite corner that has an intermittent and indeterminate gush!

So ya wanna make it interesting Bernie.... :racer:

I'd like to see Hamilton help his team mate to second in the Drivers Championship! Even though the team says Rosberg doesn't need help, he does, but won't admit or ask for it.

I can't see that happening, it's clear to me that Lewis races for himself.

Happily just sat behind. Threw in a few fastest laps and managed his tyres. Wait till he gets to Brazil and Abu_Dhabi. He loves those tracks. It'll be business as usual then.

If you believe they put a man on the moon, man on the moon... REM

Yawn... I still think all drivers are pretty much the same and that's why I'd like to see the younger element try the better cars; that said, I take my HAT OFF to Mercedes for producing cars that can do what they do as reliably as they do - not Nico's of course, SORRY! But Nico always seems to have the issue, much like Vettel and Webber, etc...

ENGINEERS, is what F1 is about, you can change the ****** drivers anytime... :racer:

Back to the matter in hand Hamilton and Rosberg; I thought it interesting that Rosberg post race will talk openly about his wife and new baby and maybe the next new baby but all Hamilton can manage is to dress his dog in a sombrero and Mexican cape.

Oh ****, I know I'm gonna get in trouble for this... Shall I, should I, press 'Post reply' or WIPE.

Sod it...

OK, I know 'some' of you don't believe me so here goes:

At least Lewis has a personality! F1 drivers are suppose to enjoy a playboy lifestyle ala James Hunt. Lewis Hamilton's lifestyle is what makes him marketable on top of being the Three Time World Champion. His sponsors are well happy! :)

Some serious issues being reported by Kevin Eason today (The Times) that Toto Wolff and Nikki Lauda are now at loggerheads following the Mexican Grand Prix with Lauda threatening to leave at the end of the year - curiouser and curioser but I hope that gets resolved...

Plus, an report sent to me from friends in Germany that Rosberg refused to provide Hamilton with his (Rosberg's) suspension set-up for the Grand Prix hence the statements from Wolff that the set-ups this time were indeed different; and that for me smacks of claims from Barrichello and Button a few year back.

Following the Lotus F1 team for as many years as I have it's undoubtedly true that Lotus have had some very fast drivers who were totally unable to 'tune' a chassis and suspension and went way quicker when having a go in a team-mates car - not mentioning names but Ronnie Peterson sideways through the old Woodcote was a spectacle to behold...

I could see that coming a mile off. Especially since Hamilton wanted to stay on strategy A whilst Rosberg changed to B. Hence why Hamilton stayed out an extra lap after Rosberg came into change tyres for there's 'precautionary' stop due to having the time in hand.
Hamilton thought he could go to the end of the race and they stayed on the same strategy with Hamilton being instructed to pit.
So the question remains, if they are an equal team with equality across the garage then Toto should have given Hamilton access to Rosberg's car set up.
Since this has not been the case then Hamilton would have been entitled too stay out and go with his own gut. But he didn't and played the team game. Something Rosberg clearly didn't if the suspension story is factually correct.
Interesting times ahead. I just hope Hamilton blows him away in the next two races.

Just reporting here - as RS3copilot shops for a get-well-soon card - but Lewis is unwell.

Kevin Eason reports today in The Times (ok so I'm old enough to read it/look at the pictures...) that Lewis is elsewhere: "The world champion was said to be suffering a fever" and "there are fears his workload and constant travel through an arduous season are catching up with him" but for them worried the dog's OK...

Considering ALL of the other drivers having done the same number of races in 2015 are already feet-up in Brazil?

Ooops, gotta go, RS3copilot's back...

REALLY jojo? "How you know this?" And them words came out of Ayrton Senna in an interview way before your time jojo.

RS3copilot (and me too) hope's he's ok though she doesn't know yet.

Me, a 100% member of NALF (Not A L**** Fan) thought he was away learning Ayrton Senna Brazilian, the language not the haircut..., for the podium...

An OPPORTUNITY then for ALL Lewis Hamilton grovellers to stick a young blood in the car and see what happens...

Get a Verstappen or a Kvyat in the Merc and let's see; for sure he'd be second and if the rest of you LH supporting guys are right, which I doubt, first.

Championship over, tsk; and let's see...

Prayer mat out and praying at each and every one of 360º and all ways and up and down...

You gotta be kiddin' me jojo with that! link: he crashed into a bl**dy S T A T I O N A R Y vehicle

I mean, let's get this right jojo, it wasn't like the Spa chop! The ****** thing he hit wasn't even movin'

Maybe, as in Spa, "he (the other car that is) said he/it did it on purpose"... :blownose:

PS: if RS3copilot reads this then that's me sandwiches this Sunday gone AWOL...:racer:

Actually I think Verstappen or Kvyat in a Merc would be amazing, would be very tight between them and Hamilton. Difference is that this year Hamilton has grown as a driver and over the course of the season would probably make fewer mistakes...

Now I know you Hamilton fans are genuine; I know, I know; but he ain't ever a fast against the clock as his - how do I say this team mate, no; partner, no; mate, no; other person in the other car, yeah, that'll do. Rumour remains that in Mexico Rosberg wouldn't hand over his suspension settings and even today no one will deny that. Also, when Vettel had been lapped, and pulling AWAY from Hamilton and closing on Rosberg the stewards called woa! And Vettel had to pull to one side and let Hamilton pass, why was that? Niticably vettel didn't 'park' as that might have been bo**dy dangerous with Hamilton passing...

Just saying

NALF

Not 45bvtc mind but NALF.... Do Not let RS3copilot know...

Haha, John, Lewis HAS already won the Championship. Rosberg is under no pressure now. HE's clearly as fast as Lewis in certain circumstances, but as a racer under pressure, he hasn't got the edge that Lewis has to be World Champion! In my opinion. :D

Had to laugh at Hamilton bemoaning the fact that to overtake today, he needed a car advantage. Hmmm. Someone obviously didn't tell Verstappen this, he was awesome through the Senna S multiple times... With a Renault engine overtaking Merc engined cars!

Crikey, are you another NALF?

Wouldn't say I am a NALF, but I am swaying more towards that mentality the more he opens his mouth! LoL

My ADVICE for 'L' and I'm sure jojo will agree: affix a big nail to the brake pedal 'cos you're overdoing it and making yourself look like a complete and utter penis. By your own admission you, and everyone else says you do and how wonderful that is (Herbert, Hill, Brundle, et al) "hit the brake pedal HARD" and it's about time you stopped 'cos with patchwork front tyres no matter what you say or think you'll not catch the 'smoother driving' guy in front; a racer you may be, but don't moan after the event that your tyres weren't up to the job 'cos as Rosberg proved his were...

How many times to you have to flat spot the tyres before you learn not to - and that's not a question...

NALF (new members wanted, hey jojo?)

C'mon Ozmosis, don't give up on me now, I've enough problems with RS3copilot... :racer:

John, I was watching the practice sessions and L was consistently overcooking his breaking into the Senna S lap after lap. He likes to compare himself to Senna, yet I am sure Ayrton was the king of Interlagos, and Monaco... Perhaps my memory is fading??? LoL

L is becoming the king of second at Interlagos... Which, if I am not mistaken, is FIRST OF THE LOSERS!!!

If he can't manage the tyres this season, next season should be even worse as they are altering the compounds and introducing 'Ultra Softs' or something...

Now Nico has secured second place ahead of Vettel, I'm betting Hamilton will be back to winning ways at Abu Dhabi.

ya see, it's all been pre-planned to keep Rosberg onside. :sign yum:

Neveeeeeeeeeer! lol :p

Joking apart, jojo, and that's all this is, but me and mine were both asleep from around lap three to lap twenty-eight so the sooner this season's over the better. And I'm with my boy Sebastian for a driver strike with placard-carrying 'boys' on the grid... what's all that about? :sadlike:

I didn't get to watch much of it, I was busy at work! Once Rosberg crossed the finish line first, I lost interest. lol
