Sportback the build thread

Yes a straight swap they need adaptors 40quid and then fitted and coded you can buy them from ebay from germany 155 quid or euro car parts 178 quid.

do you have the part numbers for the rear valance and s3 diffuser? it's something I want to do to my sportback

wee update bought a 345mm S3 front setup and got them fitted, flushed the lines which was just as well as it was a murky fluid that came out, replaced by 5.1 dot fluid. Damn heavy brakes though, better stopping power and a worthwhile mod I don't track but occasional 1/4 mile day. Calliper pins were S3 ones so sanded that off then sprayed silver and stuck on a set of audi decals then clear coat sprayed over the top.

Got acces to some ramps today and got the oil changed on the rear diff 800mm it takes roughly and while up got the Powerflex dog bone insert fitted, very easy less than 10mins to do. No vibrations either need my tracking done and also want to replace the rear ARB as the bushes look badly worn 034 motorsport one looks good.

Another update, when you fit the R32/S3 front brakes they sometimes get a bit snatchy a low speeds like in a traffic jam so to counter this and even things out i bought a rear 310mm RS3 setup as well as providing excellent stopping power they are gloss black to match my front setup

Then it was a trip to progrip to get my alignment sorted out as with the previous suspension work it needed done.
Camber was off and also had a rear tyre with a flat spot another that was over 5 years old, fronts were on 3mm so made the decision to get 4 new tyres.

Originally planned to buy mitchelin pilot sports 2 but recently got good feedback on the goodyear assymetrics f1 looked online but ended up getting a local place to fit all 4 for £360 could have gotten cheaper by £20 from camskill but meant waiting until next week for fitting and with the dodgy tyre i thought not worth risking it. Good choice though previously i had vibrations between 60-70mph this has gone and the road noise i previously mentioned in this thread has also dropped and the car handles so much better. I have also bought another S3 intercooler so want fit this with the throttle pipe and maybe the turbo pipe.

Looking good some grate progress.
Can I ask what parts you got for the mfsw ?

Forgot about that lol. Theres a loom from the wheel and the updated controller i can get the part numbers if you need them , still got the double din cage as well to fit and the rear lights, bought a wiring loom of ebay and it didn't work should have bought the kufatec loom.

Is it just the controller under the squib and loom that's needed o and obviously the wheel lol

Lol top one mate I work for a German specialists we have a lot of German cars over 200 in our yard currently have 15 or so a3s so I can get the parts from them lol

Another wee update. Got my S3 intercooler fitted and neuspeed throttle pipe

The neuspeed pipe is like the cts version and needs fettling to fit as its very very close to the fans.

A small cosmetic mod today. Every day when i open my front door i am drawn to the matt plastic fog surrounds and it looks bad imo. I was going to have them sprayed gloss back but fancied trying some hydro dipping. I Think they were challenging to do lol. Now carbons not everyones thing but small amounts are fine for me. Freshens up the car apart from the stone chips

Getting ready for the German Invasion day at Crail so ordered some service stuff. first up read about the Millers Nanodrive oil so ordered 5L from Opie oils with the ASN discount code and then was advised to swap my oem plugs for some NGK Iridium BK7. Also made sense to replace the cam follower as well, it looked no bad some wear around it but intact.

I have TD's fitted and they have unfortunately been kerbed so they required a refurb so i thought i would change from silver to something different and liked the flash chrome from the wheel specialist so did some hagling and got a good price for powdercoating. Now as TD owners will vouch owning these alloys there is one flaw and thats if you kerb them on the writing they are a swine to fix, well they did me proud

Did my first 1/4 mile day in the a3 have to say its a bonus having quattro on the start but the ko3 is the let down rubbish times 15.01 was the best, highest speed 95mph, compare this to my edition30 which is ko4 reached 100+ With my rubbish starts giving 14's. The car in front is a s3 tte420 build

I havent really had a clear plan with what i want to do whith my first audi as i was not going to keep the car long but as I dont know what car I want next I will see this through until I do. So I want to get to about 300-325bhp but I dont want to upgrade engine internals and get all the KO4 pipework so the plan is to hybrid a KO3 turbo theres few that have done it who use different parts so I am doing some research but I have a tuner who will do the work and will probably get an APR map. Anyone with any advice would be great. So i started my parts collection with a Milltek downpipe(decat)

Where did you get the milltek exhaust from mate? How much was it? It's something I want to get on my A3 sportback

When you did the map light swap to the one with two reading lights either side, did you have to add any wires? Or just plug in and go?

Perfect, How much did the hydro dipping cost? Cause those fogs looks super sexylicous and i want!

Got the 034 motorsport rear ARB fitted and while i havent had a spirited drive I do notice a differnce on roundabouts and cornering generally on recent trips so for the cost it was worthwhile, the old oem one was in a bit of a state to be fair.
Another couple of purchases were the R-tech double heat shield and also took advantage of the ecotune black friday deal and bought the rear section to finish of my milltek system which i will get fitted next year unless i get itchy feet lol.
