Lowering springs S3

Anyone know the HnR lowering springs part number for the s3 saloon?

Just a reminder that we have the H&R kit in stock ready to go at £200 delivered or £300 fitted.

H&R 20mm Lowering Springs Audi S3 8V 2.0TFSI (13-)

I've got a 2.0TDI 150 S line 8V, do you know if 20mm S3 springs will fit it okay?

If they fit, I'll be ordering from you in the next week or two :)

Hi Guys.

Just read this thread, was thinking to put some KW coilies on my S3 8V but may opt for springs only as trying not to be sensible with money for once.

I've got 235 35 19 tyres on 19 8.5J wheels, how much can I lower the car without it rubbing? I want to be able to drive around town without bottoming out on speed bumps but want better handling on track days too.

Be good to hear from GNJ about this and would be happy to order some H&R springs on their advice!

Cheers

Graham

I've been in touch with Awesome and they recommend the street comfort KW kit which is around £1100. They said variant 1 will be too firm along with variant 3. The only close one is variant 2 for comfort but it's a guessing game.
No h&r suspension available or billies.
KW also said that they have no intentions of making a street comfort kit any time soon for the S3 8V.

I would seriously advise against just springs if you like your comfort or drive over speed bumps. Standard dampers and shorter springs = more bottoming out, had it on my TT and the ride was horrendous. But went round corners like it was on rails!

Cheers for that. I thought the same about just going down the springs route to start with; but the feedback on here seemed positive.

You said awesome recommend the street comfort kit but KW aren't making it?!?

Yep exactly kW only produce 3 coilovers kits at present.
I went on springs last time through forum recommendation and I can assure you if you want a perfectly balanced drive with the stance and handling along with comfort you'll need a full suspension set up. If springs were so good why are there £1000+ kits out there with springs and dampers designed for each other. Just my opinion as I know lots of people have just gone for springs, nice and cheap in comparison but it's not for me.

Google translate buddy, but sshhhh, don't tell anyone.... :D:D
I've been known to use the same tactic to show off to my mate, he plays rugby for Italy and although his English is fine, sometimes I just can't resist...!

How is the ride? Are they more comfortable than the H&R's?

I couldn't compare to H&R - never had any experience in afraid. Ride is good for me - firmer than standard, a little bit of that characteristic squat and bob, my only negative is that a couple of times I've hit a pothole on our fabulous British roads and nearly put my teeth out. But that was pushing on pretty rapidly!
Overall, a huge improvement - we all know the issues with the 8V S3 setup, these springs aren't a miracle cure but go a long way to improving things.

Good to hear, did you get from GNJ? Your ride looks sweet. Carbon mirrors look like a must - if I can work out how to remove the silver ones!

Thanks mate! Yes they are my favourite thing on the car I think, they look awesome IMO!
I picked mine up from Brotek.

Has anyone had to adjust the headlight height after lowering?
With the nights drawing in I've noticed my headlights are only shining about 10ft up the road. Borderline dangerous!!

Are they easy to adjust, or will I just ask the dealer to do this when it gets serviced in next couple of weeks??

I've got xenons, not LED's.
