Right so just done my window regulator on my b6 estate on the osf all went well but now when i shut my door it doesnt seal correctly. How can i fix this? I did it on my s3 before and never had any issues.

I'd start taking it all apart slowly, and you will probably find you've just forgot to tighten a bolt somewhere.

Top hinge either needs to move forward or bottom hinge move back
That's it's really

I've done that repair and I can't think of anything you'd need to remove that would effect the alignment of the door.
Weird!

I had this exact same problem. Noticed loads of wind noise after replacing regulator and after looking could see that the door wasn't sealing properly.

That was a cheap regulator which snapped and when I eventually replaced that I managed to get it to seal a little better but it's still not perfect. Wind noise has stopped though!

In my case it's the top of the door where it's noticeable that it's not sealing, almost as if the door has dropped. No idea why!

I would check if the interior door panel / trim is properly located. It hooks over the inner cill near the window glass. If not it will stick proud.

if you havent moved the striker catch it has to be the door card or the alignment of the complete window frame you have taken out to remove and change of the regulator. I changed mine nback in may and it fits better than it did before. Since then done a few mates and touch wood all been ok.

How does the windpw frame at the top (around the whole glass) fit? how well does it fit to the B-pillar at window height?

Where abouts are you located? Im sure resolvable fairly easily with a bit of methodical removing of door card and looking/adjusting.

if local im more than happy to have a look

After a little thinking.
It could be the adjuster wedges at the base of the mech. This adjusts the angle of the upper frame on the door. If you've got the angle too far towards the car. It might be pushing the door out. Maybe try lifting the wedges up a little.

I would imagine the door glass (top half) is leaning in too far towards the car and hitting too soon stopping the main metal of door getting farn enough in to fit flush. Sure small adjustments and will fit fine

This happened to me on our A3..... the little packers have to go back in exactly the same place otherwise it alters the fit of the door, also on the A3 the top part of the frame has some adjustment too.... if anyone else is doing this in the future I would recommend taking photo's of all the bolt positions in relation to the frame and maybe marking them all with paint before undoing so you can be sure it all goes back together in the original position
