Hi guys,

Current owner of a 05 8P with the single din concert stereo. Ideally I'd love to be able to use Bluetooth to stream music and answer calls. I've had a look at converting to double din but it looks quite expensive and probably something I'd do when I'm happy to fork out for a oem style double din. I've also had a look at various kits that fit on to an existing head unit but I'm pretty sure they all need the car to have a CD changer which sadly mine doesn't posses. So now it looks like an after market single din might be the answer. Do you guys have any suggestions? Ideally I would love something that isn't a bright green plastic mess or has massive red buttons with "Super Bass" written all over them.

Also if I end up getting persuaded to go double din, do you guys have any suggestions on after market, oem looking units. Every time I find a nice one, there is always somebody in the comments having a rant about it being very slow or unresponsive.

Cheers

WE supply/fit the double din audi setups if interested, which gives you nav, sd card slots, led backed screen, PM if of interest :)

would that include adjusting the centre console to accommodate double from single?

Yes I would do everything using all oem parts, would look factory afterwards, all you'd need to do is pay the bill :)

is it only done onsight or do you travel to customers in some cases?

How much would I be looking at roughly for a single to double din conversion and a stereo fitting? Also would you recommend any double din stereos? Also based in Lancashire

I have a single din concert radio too and just added an aux which is connected to a stereo bluetooth receiver which is able to play music from my phone and answer calls as its got a built in mic. Also bought a dash board car magnet to keep it in place. Works great for me.

Don't you need a CD changer for that? In the end I crumbled and bought a double din unit and all the required stuff for the retrofit. Should be doing the fit this weekend if all goes to plan

No, when you fit the aux adapter (connects2 brand) you just press the CD button two and thats it. Let us know how you get on

I'll take some nice photos, I would do a walk-through but It could be a bit of a bodge job knowing me. Any ideas on the lead's I'm going to need? I'm guessing a aerial inline boost like this. And an adapter for the for the amp in the back (non bose) like this?
