1.8t sport.. Low and loud

Another update this time a change of wheels ..
The ones in question are Rvr r6 wheels
18x8.5 front and 9.5 rears.. Never ran staggered wheels before but I'm glad I have now! Need to space the fronts 5mm tomorrow an trim arch liners (if possible) and also camber the rear and try to get my rear adjusters loose so I can eliminate the reverse rake once an for all..
Anyway pics
Rubber set up on the wheels.

Took a sponge and chamois to the local texaco jetwash

Any comments welcome!

rims look good dude!
looking more like a euro slag with them deep dishes fitted
only thing I cant help thinking is that it would look evil with black spokes with the polished deep lip .. but that's just me lol

Yea mate definitely a lot more fitting and I get what your saying about the black faces because there's loads of black on rest of the car aha

it looks really clean to be fair mate ,its amazing how you can totally change the look of a car just by changing the wheels!

Cheers

specs descent bud ... im similar as I don't want rocket ship power like some of the mental builds on here ..don't get me wrong id love mental power but my pockets aint that deep haha.

i did think about k04 power but im more tempted by a ko3 hybrid or a bbt k250 / k280 turbo when i go stage 2 that is .. still working at a good stage one but custom map at r tech to utilise my mods... which im only a couple of mods and a descent full service and coil pack change away from.

you running a standard ,sports cat or decat?

have thought about upgrading front brakes to s3 when my current discs and pads need replacing .. is it just the calipers and carriers you need for them to fit ? (apart from the obvious correct pads and 312mm discs)

I know what you mean it all adds up and I have heard good things about the beach buggy turbos .. Sounds good mate and running no cat mate just the back box that's it and regards the brakes just new discs pads and carriers I paid £80 off ebay for the calipers and £100 for discs an pads from ebay I'm no mechanic and it's dead easy to do aha

its the price of it all , down pipe and decat is 90 quid but personally don't want the issues of not being road legal ... but then the road legal option is down pipe and 200 cell sports cat is like 300+ quid... im taking mine for cat cack before stage one ... when I go stage 2 I may go sports cat route with fmic and k280 turbo.

I read in the stickies bit on ko3s must do mods that the calipers are the same for s3 and normal 1.8t just the carriers need changing to be able to fit the bigger discs .... may try and find myself a set of carriers lol

Thankfully I have a friend who does my mot's at the minute so it's not a problem (yet) aha and yea it's only the carrier which is slightly bigger and wider for the bigger disc must say they look a lot better behind the wheel also

Busy weekend car wise this one!
Replaced plugs, oil and oil filter as it was overdue car now runs a lot better as had a slight miss down to plugs I believe.
Also had to replace rear wheel bearing as it was making a humming noise and was passed its best!
Had the help of my step brother on the wheel bearing who flew through the job in about 30 mins!
We were going to swap both rear wheel bearings but euro car parts only had one in :(
Anyway will let the pics do the talking

Inspection photo! Turned out the bearing was near side not off side where I could hear it..

New bearing on in no time

Gave mine and the girlfriends car a quick rinse so set for the week!

Chucked some 5mm spacers on the rear as the tops looked lost in the arch with the camber

Obviously that's before a wash

Also toying with the idea of keeping the car and buying a better front mount and updating clutch and flywheel but unsure..
Spend another £500 on this or buy a 225 TT ..
Thanks for looking

Not posted on here for a little while..
Well the inevitable happened, my clutch started slipping majorly so nursed it until my mate could get me in the workshop..

Whilst the clutch was going I thought ahead and ordered a dark side g60 lightened flywheel and vr6 Sachs clutch kit, thought at the same time I may aswell waste a bit more money, I bought a toyo sport fmic for it have to say these fit like dog poo and require a lot of cutting which still isnt sorted ...yet

One day on a run home from work the clutch pedal snapped as I was sat in a half mile queue of traffic .. Perfect
We have a family AA gold cover so thought why not they may tow me the 1.5 miles home..
So I dragged it into a church carpark with no clutch

Sat and waited for 1.5 hours and he could do nothing so left it a few more hours and drove home in 2nd gear because the traffic had died down

Lovely broken peices which I saved and my dad managed to weld the little metal tab back on and refit the pedal.. Happy days!

Now the car was useable again but the pedal had some mega play in it ..
Fast forward to the weekend my mate fitting the clutch and flywheel.. Once he had finished and tried to bleed the system the master cylinder was fudged which I must of done when the pedal went, so another day I got one and the car drove spot on after that except the clutch switch was also totally goosed but now all back in and sorted so a quite eventful month or so

Here's some pics of it looking a bit less broken down but still need to get the front mount sitting better it looks tacky as hell with boost pipes sticking out :(

As you can see I need to sort the front mount badly it's making the car look chavtastic

Car looks great mate, shame about the Toyo FMIC making things look a bit untidy up front though... I've literally lost count of the amount of times I've warned people away from these kits for that exact reason.

You'd be better off using custom/generic hose pieces from Auto Silicone Hoses or something, at the front at least. I'm running a larger Toyo cooler yet have retained my fogs and grills:

Also... How did you end up fitting the S3 spoiler? I quite like how it's raised up from standard...

Hey mate I have sorted the front mount out now of sorts, well my friend has il post a progress thing on it now ..
It's just bonded on with some stixall adhesive if your familiar with that? It's only a cheap rep one off eBay £50 iirc..
It's held on at 145mph so I'm guessing it's staying on aha!

Now the front mount has been somewhat improved I am a lot happier with the car..
But now I have another task the missing grills cannot go back in without being butchered and as they are a fog light set up I don't want to ruin them, so I'm going with the idea of making a sort of cover myself out of some black polycarbonate and either cutting slots or drilling holes in and bonding them in place .. Quite how this will go in not sure. Anyway pics of the improved set up
Will post pics of the old and new to show improvements now I do understand this isn't a show winning bay so mb are that in mind..
The old set up.. Toyo sport kits are not worth the hassle would of spent the money elsewhere had I known the ballache it was [img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/9CB464D4-43A5-45FD-B782-32BC52774918_zps5g4it13z.jpg][img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/3F0CD64C-397B-4605-B275-A855D4BAFC56_zpswjlgqifo.jpg]
As you can tell from above it fits like poo even with a lot of chopping! [img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/71C3D7DD-467F-4CD3-9468-3797101834BB_zpsho8yp0yc.jpg]
Frankly I didn't enjoy driving it round with 4x4 style bull bars hanging out at the front! Also the piping from the turbo down to the cooler was fouling everything and the bonnet..
Now for the revised set up like I say not exactly pretty but it works and seems to run a lot better now ..[img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/F5F00160-7A1D-474A-A3D7-0F21E3F2CDE7_zpsnmayignx.jpg]
I think in the future I will replace the black boost hose for something else[img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/F2BE91C6-5D09-4E5A-B153-4EF59EE4985B_zpscytnygq9.jpg][img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/0DBB3DE8-6AEA-486B-8237-C65EF8401EAF_zpsjre5100m.jpg][img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/12DEFDBF-1F67-408C-8804-6F29884E41B4_zpsuul4rgkp.jpg][img=http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/elzlewis16v/F2BE91C6-5D09-4E5A-B153-4EF59EE4985B_zpscytnygq9.jpg]
I feel the front end looks a hell of a lot better now than it did before, but now I'm needing to make something like I say or buy some none fog light grills and get the dremel out and hack away
Thanks for reading any comments welcome

Also thanks to admin who fixed the pictures! Not sure why it's doing it ?
vag-slag any pics from behind the bumper? Yours looks like a class install

Just a few of the Audi after a £6 Homebase detail by the Romanians aha.
Just gonna have to cut and modify my original grills to fit or else it will look daft, il hopefully be doing tomorrow!

Struggling to think of other things I can do it now, other than new wheels or save for a bit newer and quicker car.

Not updated for a while but recently had the car'a map tweaked now it has a fmic and better clutch and pulled a healthy 232hp an 270ft/lb which I was rather happy with!
Also removed my bumpstops which actually improved the drive a lot:yahoo:
