Where is the best place to get a Sachs racing clutch from please? And does anyone have the required product code for an Audi s3 58 reg? Any help would be appreciated!

Any decent tuner should be able to do this.

Also TSR(forum sponsor) have a deal going.

Choose a good one local to yourself and go with that.

Thanks for getting back to me mate.. Will have a look at TSR. Found one for around £800. But haven't really managed to find anything to compare it too. Any other recommendations for a racing clutch? I've heard your the go too man for advice on building up an s3

Thank you!

If you wanted a bullet proof clutch for drag runs etc then I'd still choose the Spec Stg3+ that I have.

It's a full face carbon metallic clutch that's easy to use around town and can deal with over 540lbs

Mine is running 550bhp/540 lbs with zero slip etc after 3 yrs of use.

Jesus, a lot of work and time gone in to your motor then!! Sounds like a beast! You have any problems running it at that power? Ideally like to take the car to stage 3. Will likely be in the next 12 months or so I'd imagine. You got a link for that clutch mate? Would be interested in having a look. Thanks again for getting back to me

No problems.

www.specclutch.com

AMDTuning and Backdraft can supply it.

Mine has run 440bhp for a few years before going to its current spec and if you can bear it,my build thread has all the details.

Friend had a Sachs ZF paddle clutch fitted along with a TTE420 turbo. Fairly progressive clutch for a paddle.

In terms of usability and durability, the Spec will beat it hands down.

Thanks again mate. Going to look into it now. May be a few months along the line. Hit a bump regards to getting my engine rebuilt! Shouldn't be any problem modifying a rwvuild engine should there?

If it's been built correctly no.

Thanks again mate! Appreciate your help. New to the whole modifying cars crack.. Not going to let a blown engine put me off though ha ha

For everyday use on a car with a stock turbo the Sachs organic (I.e not a paddle type) is a very good choice.
I had one all the way up to the early stages of a big turbo and as long as you don't abuse it,it's good.

Thanks for the message TSR. I found the offer. I also have quite a few other things I would be looking to purchase. Will contact you tomorrow for more info thanks. Was looking for the organic clutch @S3Alex too so may purchase this one.. Would that be good for stage 3.. Or would you recommend the one from spec clutch?

For a big turbo conversion the Spec Stg3+ would be the best option.

My own Sachs eventually gave up at 440lbs.

Thanks again @S3Alex. Spoke to TSR today about upgrades. Apparently the Sachs clutch is running in a customers car at around 550bhp. So may go for that one. Will have a look into it. Thanks for your help again mate. And thanks for your help too TSR

Depends totally on torque.

The Sachs was ok on mine until around 440lbs.
After that something tougher was required and the Spec is still going strong at 540lbs.

For everyday use the Sachs is excellent.

Car will primarily be run for day to day use.. Don't think I'll be doing any drag racing etc.. Hoping to run the car around 400bhp. Maybe a little more. Will see if I can resist the temptation ha

For the price difference id go for the spec will take abuse if you ever go on the strip easy to use and has plenty of scope left if you decide to keep on tuning

I'll take the majority vote here then and go for the spec.. Suppose it's better to be safe than sorry as well. Could do without any more failures with the car after rebuilding he engine! Thanks for messaging @Smirky

I think you'll be surprised.

For something that can cope with so much torque,it's light and easy to use and also practical around town.
I've had mine for a few yrs now,and as I've said,it's now dealing with 540lbs on a daily basis, and working well.
