I am returning my company car in January as I have changed roles and now spend 80% of my commute on the train to London letting the train take the strain.

I have a bit of a thing for the A5 Coupe, something rather sexy looking.

Any things I should look out for and avoid? Like certain models, age, engine etc. And anyone got any tips how to get a really good 2nd hand model?

Some of the 2.0T's from prior to either 2009 or 2011 can have oil consumption issues, although newer ones don't. Other than that depending on age some have particular issues (can't think of them off the top of my head) but what's your budget, what sort of age, fuel type etc are you looking for?

If you are thinking a year old or so then consider a new one as there are some good deals to be had as it is (relatively) close to being replaced by the new platform one.

Hello StateOfPlay,

I have my 2009 2.0 TFSI Phantom Black A5 for sale if thats of any interest? As Shrek rightly points out, these models often suffer from excessive oil consumption issues, but mine was fixed by Audi not long ago and has been absolutely fine since. I have all the paper work for any work it has had done, including regular and recommended services all performed by Audi.

Here is a link to my advert on the sales section: http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/audi-a5-2-0tfsi-sport.252908/

If you would like to get in touch, PM me and I will be happy to give you my mobile to discuss in more detail.

Cheers!

As DrEskimo says, once the work has been done this seems to be a permanent fix, so worth a look. ;)
