TTE450 vs STOCK

TTE Si.....may I ask a question:

Why do you include the Forge atmospheric blow off valve on your TTE450 and not the Forge re-circulation diverter valve?

Or the GFB valve, the forge blow off is pretty poor choice.

They are no longer providing this turbo anyway so it doesn't really matter I guess.

The Forge DV to atmo is needed and cant not be used on that stage due to us reworking the compressor housing. There's some advantages with venting to atmo. I dont wish to elaborate on that.

Yes we have paused production for time being while we look at new improvements/changes

ok....thanks...

David Lee's GOLF 7R TTE450+ By MRC Tuning 461PS 510Nm

If am not mistaken isn't this run on VP race fuel? And also the 0-60 times are with a car with no back seats and light weight race seats in the front?

yes you are mistaken. the 461 result was on tesco 99. 0-60s was with rear seats but yes car has front seats like Pole positions

497ps was done on VP race fuel

(all from memory)

Are you working on a new turbo?

i really hope uses are working on a new turbo !

how does one go around getting the details for the new turbo ? really wanting to get one fitted

I will share when ready. Our main Facebook page and we also have TTE Owners and fans group

Ohh right but the car doesn't have any rear seats as it stand now? With 0-60 times around 2.9 seconds

David the owner is constantly changing and playing with it so as is now i cant say... It is right now in the middle of a TTE600R turbo build with a fully forged and preped motor that i know. The TTE450+ was removed a while ago

The 2.9 sec 0-60s videos so on i thought was with seats tbh, as i see at MRC with seats myself and the car was/is his daily car and he has a little girl. i think he takes out as and when he feels but does this matter im not sure..

Be very interesting to see what that produces Simon.

Does the Golf R have the same integrated head/manifold as the S3?

Yeah its all a unknown. Turbo is good for a easy 600ps but we have tried to make responsive too.

Yes it does have the same head as the S3 8v, this one been worked a little too.

That'll be interesting
I can't see that lot as being equivalent to a good tubular manifold but you're going to be the first to see how it goes.

Good luck and I hope it goes well.

I heard that a certain stage 3 kit is in excess of 500bhp,it's twin scroll too...

the twin scroll is APR ?

Any idea which turbo they chose?

The previous kit used a GTX2867.

There will be a choice of two turbos, both borg warner i believe.

I was just wondering which to be honest.

The previous kit was often touted as hitting 500bhp but only on race fuel plus WMI so it will be interesting to see what this one produces.

They were keen and rightly so with the previous kit to keep lag to a minimum and preserve off boost response and I think they achieved that quite well.
A twin scroll turbo will help but physics being what it is,a bigger turbo will still have to give something away over the smaller turbo.

It's time for stuff like this now....it always takes a while for the tuners to start getting on top of things.

One turbo will give better response with less peak power (better imo) but some people will want bragging rights so there is a bigger turbo.
I am happy with the stock turbo, 2000rpm making 400ft-lb flat through the rev range with a peak of 400bhp.... thats enough on a daily driver.

Yes I understand.

That was my point about one giving away something to the other.
There is always a trade-off,although it can be offset to a degree with special turbos and clever electronics but that's another story altogether.

I would probably take torque any day over top end power although both is even better....LOL

Let's see what both TTE and APR can do
