I was looking on the Audi Website this evening, and it appears that the S3 Sportback now comes with Sat Nav - SD card based fitted as standard.

I have asked my dealer to confirm if this is the case, and I expect, if it is, that this is because a facelift model is coming out next year.

This could be intrest in as I'm looking at ordering at the weekend

Yes on the audi website it states its standard, plus a increase of about £200! However the configurator hasn't been updated. Not sure anything else changed, a bit gutted as I have ordered it on mine...

Clever , they have also renamed it.
My S3 is bw 43 , and I have ordered with sd sat nav. I wondered about cancelling the sat nav option and see if I got it anyway, but as they have re named it and increased the price by £250 ...
Biggest issue is trying to sell my diesel scandal a3 ....
Start the campaign to shift it this weekend.

S3 Saloon is the same. Trim level is now "S3 Nav". As you say configurator still shows it as an option at £495 and the list price is £250 cheaper on the configurator than the Audi website

Its in the brochure download (October version)... standard on all A3's except SE. Also looks as if the Tech pack is cheaper too

Nice. Ordered last week so hope I wilk have the sd nav. Face lift surely wont look to dissimilar?

Does anyone know from what build week this applies from? My S3 has just entered the paint shop and my TomTom 510 arrived this morning.

It's more to do with BMW as they fit nav as standard across their range.
Ford have had nav versions of their focus for about three years as well so I think audi are just bringing themselves into line with all other manufacturers not just BMW...

Moody man , suspect you and I won't get this as it applies to the "navigation" models which we have not ordered. I have paid £495 for it as an option so have lost out £245 , but that is life. Could have a moan I suppose and see if I get anything . Though more interested to see if my diesel 8p sells tomorrow !

I have asked my dealer if this will affect the price of my order... one only hopes!

The SD sat nav is now standard on the Sport and S-line.

They are now called S-line Nav & Sport Nav!

I think that the MMi should just have an option to plug in your smartphone and have that projected onto the screen. Why do I need Audi nav...just let me use whatever nav I want on the screen. Surely it is possible for the screen mirror an iPhone or whatever device you have? A crappy tv can do it so a high end car screen should.

The Golf has MIB II, so has Apple Car Play, Android etc. ;)
More advanced tech than err, Audi :)

I agree Apple/Android integration would be nice but my god fathers that is one ugly looking system. Looks like those ****** awful cheap chinese units they sell on ebay!

Audi might lack a little functionality here and there but they still have style in spades compared to the competition ;)

Ugly?

Come come now :p

Beauty is in the eye etc. Some people have run screaming from the plain Jane interior of the A3.....

"Dowdy", I've heard it described as :p

Those red air vents must be Audi's top efforts to spice up an interior! :p

I hope they don't do a matching red "velvet" steering wheel. :haha:

I have been told by the dealer today the price I was originally quoted for my order will be reduced because of this change.

? Reduced in what way ?
Do you mean they will knock £250 off now nav is standard ?

I don't have the change details yet, other than the cost £495 will be removed... given the cost of the vehicle has gone up too, I am not sure if they will take this into consideration too?

Yep - looks standard .

If they're supplying it as standard in the new A3s they should knock the retrofit price down!

As you received the car before the announcement I guess you'll have less bargaining power than those who are still in the build process I guess...

Have asked dealer , mine is now showing in Prep. Went into prep on 3rd Oct ....so keeping fingers crossed...

Have e-mailed my dealership regarding this as it was one of the options I debated over but left out as I knew it could be retrofitted. Now knowing it comes as standard has irritated me and as the dealership were aware of my debate over whether to get it or not, I'd like to see what they say about it. Anyone who has had it retrofitted, how long does it usually take?

You'll have to let me know how you get on. I'm debating taking a similar approach. I think it's like an hour or so

When I had my SD Nav card retrofitted in April 2014 it took the dealer less than 15 mins.......and they still charged me £515, which include the Nav card, for the privilege!!

Ouch! That's a bit of a sting.

I'm hoping that because the car is not in my hands yet and not being collected til Saturday that something can be done. They've been pretty good to me so far so we'll see. Will update the thread once I hear from them.

Collecting my A3 saloon on Thursday and I specified satnav when ordering a while ago.
Don't suppose dealer will knock off £245 when I settle up.

I have just received confirmation from my dealer that the SD Sat-Nav will be fitted FOC to my S3, even though I had not included it in my original spec. :yahoo:

I am sure any dealer worth his salt would upgrade this if its merely a software/ supply SD card change as a goodwill gesture... he says!!

When did you order and do you have a BW ?
Waiting to hear from dealer as have it ordered and want to know if the charge will be taken off my invoice as not yet built....

Original BW was 45, but this has been brought forward to BW42 (which is next week), and I placed the order in July.

In my particular case it means I will now have to pay an extra £250 on my next A3, assuming my next car is an A3, for something that I don't want. I much prefer a Sat/Nav system that can give me an audible warning a speed camera locations like my existing TomTom.
