I have recently bought this car and done 1500 miles in it now and i have noticed that on one part of a road out to my friends garage the traction control light comes on and also i can feel the brakes coming on a little when the light is flashing.
So iam going to call this section of road that the light comes on the big dipper.
So as enter the down hill section of the big dipper the light comes on and also on my way home going the other way as iam just starting to go down hill slightly turning the steering the light comes on.

Tonight i got my friend to do a plug in diagnostic and the only falts were on the central locking every thing else were no faults found testing some 27 ecus on the car.
So we talked about the steering angle sensor and reset that as it was saying 5 degrees out.
I than took my friend out for a spin and did the big dipper both ways and had no traction light.
Then when i drove home and did the big dipper the light came on again.
Also on another part of the road home that i have driven about 30 times in my new a3 the light came on then again but i have not noticed it on that bend before tonight.
I have driven it hard at times on all sorts of bends and not had the traction light come on at all.
It did come on once a few weeks ago when the road was dry but close to the gutter there was a little stream of running water that was run off from nearby fields and both my left wheels were in the stream and my other 2 wheels were on dry road. but i just put that down to possible 2 wheels turning at slightly different speeds due to the water on one side of the road.

The one thing i always find is that in only seems to happen when iam going down hill.
any have any suggestions about this issue please

Mine did exactly this when it went to awesome gti for cruise control fitting. Turns out they broke something and wouldn't own upto it. As a result i had no TC at all. Hope you get it sorted.

Has it got the original wheel on the car or had the tracking altered recently ?.
Sounds like the ESP is kicking in because it thinks the vechicle is out of control.
Are the tyres the same size all around ?, are they all blown up to the correct pressures? .
