Just been advised by dealer that spec is locked - BW 47 - WE 22nd november. Anyone in a similar position/can confirm spec would be locked 6 weeks before build week? I was hoping to change something but tbh dealer hasn't been completely open and honest before so want to make sure.

It shouldn't be locked already unless it's been brought forward to an earlier BW? However if you change any spec on your car now the price will be £800 more than when you first ordered it as the base price went up on 1st October, so any changes after that date will incur the new price.

Thanks for the replies.

Ive gone back to the dealer querying further. Ive already specced the sd nav so if they go with the new prices only (!) 300 more by my reading. Will call Audi CS tomorrow.

Want to add the sun roof but if its costing 1200 (inc the price increase) more plus sizeable delay may not bother - even if the dealer lets me :)

Col 88 - my order was originally bw 10 next year then gradually came forward over the last couple of months, so would that be a reason?

No it should still be open for any changes at the moment, seems to be the norm that usually it's only a week or two before your build date that it gets locked in. Have you been on your Audi to check the status of your build? It could have been brought forward again and the dealer hasn't told you.

It won't be locked yet, but any changes will still likely affect the build week.

My dealer told me yesterday that the price will go up on the 6th, never said how much by but i changed some things and the price is still the same for me. You are in a "price lock" unless you change things.

intrigued why pano roof ?

If I want open top driving I'll drive a soft top
I like a dark enclosed cabin for a sportier feel
It adds ~50kg to the roof - and while some don't think it's important - it does raise the centre of gravity.
It's very expensive, I can buy a whole car with no roof for the same money for summer weekends (see point one!)

I have a soft top too. The Pano roof brighten up the interior and gives it a nicer feel. You are still enclosed and have a blind if you want. Wouldn't buy a car without one.

Yea, we're all different. I wouldn't order a car without Advanced Key...

Id have loved to have specced the sunroof but as it turns the roof black, i didnt! Why cant they just put in standard sunroofs instead of those black monstrosities!

it doesn't give you a completely black roof, just the front bit with the glass. It's a look I'm not too sure about but a complete black roof I do like the look of, I contacted yiannimize about a wrap for the back bit of the roof, I choked when they quoted £400+vat, I'm a magnet for pisstakers me thinks.

I just prefer to see the cars colour along the top of the screen. Might change my mind when i see one in the flesh with a sunroof!

That's another reason for choosing Black!! Wife's white A3 with pan roof looks ok though.

Prestige wrap near Heathrow did my whole S3 roof for £120 inc VAT. I think Yanni's youtube fame has increased prices unfortunately. :(
