ANYONE GOT ANYTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT....THE A3/S3

I think I like my saloon more than I liked my sportback......

Jassy, all I can say is that my wife and I test drove a Golf R - I liked the drive but she declared it was "just a Golf".....not a starter for her. We then separately test drove the S3 at Glasgow Audi - I got a text from her after she'd finished (an hour long test drive) - "Love it - buy it" - the rest is history....! Tomorrow (18 days after pick up) she takes it to her work for the first time (her Discovery is going in for a service) - I am sure the reports will be glowing !

Despite having a 2015 A3 TDI in the US, I love this car. Yeah, it may be killing people driving behind me, but it's premium quality inside and out and hands down the best car I've owned. Well, except for the Mini as that was my first car. Handles well too. It'll be even better when I get a cheque from Audi for the trouble and have Audi financial rework my payments based on depreciated value, and throw in lifetime adblue refills every 5k miles. And maybe extend the warranty to life. Joking aside, it's a great car.

The A3/S3 is, IMO, probably the nicest looking hatch/sportback/saloon in it's class and the interior is a wonderful place, really well designed and I really liked the minimalist design.

For the straight line performance, the S3 is a bargain, and it's also pretty cheap to run/insure and service.

It's a very good, if somewhat lacking in character vehicle. My dad would be very, very happy if he could get himself into an A3 TDi saloon in Ibis with a bit of kit.

There, that's quite a lot of nice things ..

Love mine, love the look of it every time i walk up to it, love the design and quality of the interior, love the sound of my B&O system, love the reflection of my LED day running lights in the back of the car infront (at lights and junctions only of course).

:)

In keeping with the thread, the interior is classy, the shape is one the best, I like the way the silver changes colour with the sunlight and it doesn't look like a boring golf..... and the its turn of speed isn't too shabby.

.... and after the warranty runs out, maybe a tune, some wider rims and some coil overs.... who knows..

Love my S3 and so do most people I come across, in work I've had people I don't know come up to me and ask "Is that your S3 in the car park?"...."Yes"...."It looks well nice", then walk off. But then I suppose an Audi in a carpark full of Vauxhalls is going to get noticed :D :)

Love my S3 sportback. It will be two years old on Monday, it's done almost 28,000 miles, i have seen 50+ mpg on the fuel computer and modified it slightly with non genuine quattro decals on the rear doors and genuine Audi red vents in the dash.

I love mine far more than I ever expected to, I came direct from 3 successive M135's too. In fact I only bought the S3 as n interim car until my RS3 arrives in Spring next year but I'm enjoying it so much I might just hang onto it. Okay it's not perfect at everything but as a package its impressive and the feel good factor is worth every penny IMO.

I'm not one of those " I own A so B is now crap.." type people I love and appreciate a lot of cars from all brands but the S3 is highly under rated by magazine experts and then heavily criticised by a minority of owners on here looking for a more extreme option, there is a lot of love out there but as with anything in life the positive stuff often remains "unsaid".

If you are a road driver with a taste for the 'prestige' things in life then the S3 rings an awful lot of bells, give it a try and make your own mind up :)

Had mine almost two years now and still love it.

Yes it's a bit floaty. Yes the RS3 I tested sounded miles better.

But every time I'm pushing on to the point that the car feels unsettled I'm reminded that I probably shouldn't be going any faster anyway.

Already looking forward to getting another one...maybe when the facelift comes.

I like the fact that my S3 is subtle, flexible and (surprisingly) economical for a 300bhp car, can be used as an everyday "commuter", is great around town, but if you want to have a bit of fun yourself down country lanes, it has the oomph to do so. For me, having come from an Evo, it's a "practical everyday Evo" which until I got it, didn't even know Audi made. I was looking at getting an RS4 originally, but for me the S3 does everything I want and a bit more. And I do like the Pan roof (I know there are some on here that think them small, but I think its great, never really used them on previous motors, but do like it on the S3).

Only one complaint is that the permanent grin on my dial when I'm driving it gives me jaw ache. Ah well, can't have everything LOL

The S3 Saloon I had, really was a great looking Car inside & out!

With the good MPG it had & cheap Roadtax, its a very Economical Car to run, considering the Power it Produces!

24 hours in, its the nicest car I've ever owned. Looks subtle, goes like a rocket and the cabin is simply awesome.

Couldn't recommend an S3 more.

I wish I didn't give a damn about how thirsty it is and could drive it around in Dynamic mode, roosting the hell out of it every single day. As it is, I temper my enthusiasm as my wallet couldn't cope. If I could drive it like I did on my 24 hour test drive, then I'd be walking around with a permanent hard on!
But, real life dictates that I need to drive sensibly during the daily commute and also when I have the kids on board. And with that in mind, the S3 doubles up as a pretty damned good all round car, with half decent mpg when driven sensibly.

Few wee things I would change with it, but for just over £30k, I couldn't really expect much more to be honest - it's exceptionally good, in every way.

I wouldn't be too bothered about the negative posts.

Go on any single model forum and the threads are full of owner woes.
Lots of people only find the forums when they have an issue and google it.

I love my s3 pukka car. The only thing I'd change is my clutch. But that's it!! It's not it's gone wrong, it's I've tuned it and it can't cope. But when you work this out you can get round the clutch slip!! Apart from that solid build quality, excellent tuneability, and it's understated, which I prefer over the rs3!
