Instrument cluster turns off

Hi Guys,

My instrument cluster turned off on me whilst driving.

Since Thursday it has been acting funny.

Telling handbrake is applied and beeping even though handbrake is down all the way.

Says boot open when it is not.

Only thing I did was spray some wd40 on locks to lubricate them.

Any ideas?

Car is 2005 a3 sport back tfsi 2.0

When was your battery last changed?

Bought car this year March, can't really tell..will doing a voltage check do anything?

Get your battery tested and ask someone local with VCDS to do a full scan.

Same thing hapened to me, alarm kept going off aswell. I thought it was the boot microswitch but it turned out to be the convenience module in the boot had gotten wet due to a leaking washer pipe.

Weird! Just got car windows tinted and now it has stopped! Think the heat drying rear windows has fixed it
