Mobile Phone use with Audi RNS-E

Hi Guys,

I've recently purchased an A3 with the Audi RNS-E navigation system. It has an Apple 30 pin connector, which I have attached a micro USB adapter for my Samsung and that comes out from below the air con control unit.

When I press the "TEL" button it shows as "telephone not installed", I have also tried to pair my phone with the car via bluetooth and can't identify any connection.

Firstly I would like to know how I can play audio from my phone in anyway and secondly to see if there is anything I can do to make phone calls also.

If it doesn't find Audi uhv on a search then no tel is fitted.

The car has a 30 pin adapter fitted, previous owner said it worked. So would that not indicate that I should at the least be able to connect the phone via that 30 pin connector?
