Does my 2007 s3 have a K04 or a K03 turbo and also im looking at fitting the rev d diverter valve as i heard it is much better than the one fitted as standard, and does anybody know how easy it is to fit to my car?
Thanks :)

Ko4 mate and it's a 5 min job to fit a diverter valve

oh ok thanks dude, the only videos of fitting on youtube i could find are where you have to go in underneath the car

and is the rev d the best one to go for??

No.

In my opinion the DV+ by Go Fast Bits is way better.

(there might be a few along soon to verify... :) )

The revision D can even leak when brand new from what I have read. Revision G seals well but it has the rubber diaphragm that can split. I have one of these on our TT.
I use the GFB DV+ on my S3.

yeah the gfb dv+ does look good but its almost double the price, i wont mind paying for this if its actually as good as they say. would fitting this cause the engine management light to come on at all, sorry for the bone questions im still getting to know the car

I think the GFB DV+ is probably the best of the current aftermarket valves, although for most people, the revised OEM valaves can work OK.

I have a fairly old model Forge DV on mine, which has worked perfectly for over 60k miles.

so today ive just had the dv off and had a look at it to see if the diaphragm has any splits because it seemed that i was lacking slightly on boost but all seems ok with the valve, i cleaned it up and put it back on and the car seems more pokey which is good. I currently have the rev c fitted but im looking to get my car mapped to stage 1 in the next month or two, so would i be better off just going straight for the gfb dv+, or something else??

If you're having work done, the GFB makes sense, especially if you plan to go further in the long run.

ive just had someone offer me a forge dv for 75 quid, would this be a sensible option??

You've got to weigh the price Vs the age of the DV and how much use it's seen.
Mine has been completely reliable, but the engine is in bits twice a year generally so it's well looked after.

hmmm, ok thanks thats a good way to look at it. But im still not sure which route to take, i mean the car is generally well looked after but not to the extent of having it in bits twice a year lol, it gets used mainly at weekends and il most likely keep it at stage 1 for the next year or so. Would you still recommend gfb dv or i have heard a lot of talk about using the oem rev g, sorry for all the Q's im just having a hard time figuring out my best and most sensible option. All the advice is much appreciated though, thank you.

Rev G is fine, and the GFB is better, especially if you plan a lot of mods.

1st time I'm reading of issues with the rev D, is there a thread on the topic?
Lots of happy rev D users from what Iv'e read, I upgraded mine as insurance.

All I know of the GFB DV's was some issues early on and others not noting any difference in performance

If the forge one is in good condition you might as well buy that for £75 I thought it was good bit of kit when I had one
