Went to the local scrappy for a injector for a punto, found a a3 next too it, got a complete double din surround, cage, cup holder, climate, ash tray and a auto dimming mirror in back with the fixings for £25! Nice upgrade for my new S3

Fitted my big *** K&N filter with thanks to @superkarl for the info!

Noticeable difference to that of the S2000 I had been running on the car.

looks good!
That all custom bracket and that?

Hi Ian,

Yeah the bracket is something I've made up temporarily, until I get my airbox prototype made up for my RamAir system. The racing battery is fitted down with a bracket I made up too. Once it's all put together it'll be getting sprayed up.

I'm hoping it'll be a nice, unique finish to an S3 engine bay

Only thing I would change is your standard TIP. Looks great though, I love the little battery seems so much easier than relocating the standard battery.

Also, just a little word of warning, K&Ns have been known to mess up MAF sensors due to the oil. So if you start to lose performance that would be the first place I look.

Looks good dude! Stealthy with the battery cover too

Thanks Karlos, awesome air filter! I would fit a battery cover but mines in several bits :( and sourcing a replacement is almost impossible!

Cheers Jenno, I've read about the oil from these K&N filters mucking up the MAF. I did try removing as much oil as I could prior to fitting it. A Badger5 TIP is on the list of many things I'll be buying don't worry ;)

The battery was a brilliant purchase, it's been on the car now for a month without a single issue! :D highly recommend it for people trying to make space in there engine bay. Check my thread on it for more details.

Not today, but over the last few weeks, I've been slowly prepping my mk2 for Curborough, I somehow removed around 50kgs of weight from it by emptying the boot! Didn't know there was so much crap(including 2 dead car batteries) in it! lol
Unfortunately, my S3 has been a thing of neglect since my a/c killed itself at Audi's in the Park, I tried to start her up yesterday, the battery was flat! :(

Here's a few few pics of my mk2 anyways for attention.

Timing belt kit all fitted today, been meaning to do it since I bought the car, at least it will be okay for a while now.

Removed roof lining, stripped it all away, reupholstered and refitted. Such a PIA job but managed to get it looking perfect :)

took mine for its mot and it failed on a broken rear spring and excessive play in rear drop links, got them to fix it and to change the post cat lambda as it kept throught a code up and bringing the eml on. so all is well now :D just need to find where this whistle is coming from now when its on boost

i fitted sunglasses box in my car

yep its small but it does do the job

Passed another mot advisories for worn brake discs front and back, fronts have only been on for 15k. Headlamps have a product on the lens which doesn't seriously affect light output. (Lol need to refurbish them big time) and a bush.

Fixed ABS sensor, after numerous scans and fitting three different sensors then realising it was a bad connection on the abs module.

WANT! where do you get these from???

very smart

i was thinking that when i put the headlining back on - why the hell would the driver's side have a handle. you'd be busy driving to be able to use it!

I decided to do something less taxing than last weekend fitting my apex springs, etc.

So I pulled off my charge pipe, debaffled it a resprayed it in VHT black wrinkle paint (amazing paint)

Before

After

As you can probably see, the cover for the expansion tank and washer bottle looked a little sorry for itself, so I sprayed that up too.

Close up

Next will be the rocker cover (VHT Red wrinkle) and inlet manifold (VHT Black wrinkle) then I'll respray the engine cover and battery cover if I can get hold of one!

My one is....... Fubar'd

That air filter is wasted with the standard TIP dude, get yourself an 80mm one! even on my standard mapped car, it pulls a lot nicer lower down.

Don't worry mate, once I've got these couple expensive months out the way I'll be buying one from Bill. I'm just doing little odd jobs to tidy the car up :)

Badger5 TIP and billet
Wagner intercooler
3" DP and Sportcat

Those are next in line :) in that order

May I suggest you go for the V3 80mm Badger5 TIP. I have no doubt the Billet version is better, but for the actual gains over the V3, which is hardly anything at all, the V3 is so much easier to fit than the fiddly billet adaptor. I've had both versions. :)
