hahahahahaha you gotta love it dont you? Some of the tacky crap that people stick on their cars is unreal, even proper badges used in the wrong way make the whole car look rubbish, like in this case.

There's a Toyota Aygo V6 a few streets from me. :)

No different here. The bigger the M badge the better.

Big M badge is known to give 10-12 extra BHP. Surly you guys all know that?

Funnily enough it seems to me that Beemers get the rice treatment a bit more than Audis and Mercs. They cop a bit more bling etc by younger guys. Could be thats me getting older too.

Yup "M Sport" is a BMW trim spec just like "S Line" is an Audi trim spec. Both mean cars that look virtually identical to the high performance models in the range but can have the lowest spec engine in the range and I don't see an issue with that, like you say it helps the quicker variants fly under the radar which to me is good.

What I do find annoying is what you see above, when "S" or "M" badges get stuck on cars where they shouldnt have them trying to make the car something it's not. An M badge on the bootlid of a 1 Series annoys the crap out of me having had 1 Series cars for the past 6 years, even if it's on an MSport spec car that has M badges scattered over it's interior its just tacky, the only BMWs that have M boot badges are proper M cars or the halfway house M cars with some M input like the M135i etc.

I've also seen a similar badging, think it was an "S4 (or 5) S-Line"...

The other one I saw the other day was a Mini (not sure if it was a cooper or not) with a badge that didn't look right... then I realised it was the Audi style 'Supercharged' badge some put on instead of the V6T badge. I understand it on the V6T not on the mini... although I suppose it was probably at least technically accurate.

Any car I own gets debadged.
It's personal preference as it just looks cleaner I think.
Even if I was lucky enough to own an RS3/4/5/6/7, R8, Porsche 911 turbo or even a fiat panda, I would remove it's ingredients from it.

To coin a favorite phrase....

YOU CANNOT SHOW A BIGGER **** THAN WHAT YOU GOT......
(obviously referring to poultry competitions)

BMW put the extra badges on for you; my wife has an M-sport X5, its not the M, just the M-sport trim and it has11 M badges on it from the factory, we got it new and they were already there. It seems a bit excessive to me for a 3.0ltr Diesel all be it almost 300bhp.

Its not always the owners fault.

My RS4 has four RS badges on it and two fo those are inside.

When you see a 1/3/5 series other than an M135/M3/M5 with one on the bootlid I blame the owner. Even if a previous owner paid for a dealer to put them on, dental floss is cheap and they're easy to remove! :D

Which is interesting, is this why S cars are good sleepers, as most other cars look like them (lots of s-lines about), and only real knowledgeable people can spot (and hear) the difference....?

anyone else get this ? i find this a lot, people constantly asking me about my car i tell them its an S4 and they just look at me, then i head down the " its the one just below the RS4, its got a 3.0l V6 bla bla bla...... " untill i actually hear myself and realise i'm standing in the car park banging on about my motor sounding like a **** and all they really said was nice car

i deff feel the S4 slips under the radar in the fast car group though and only people that are into audis know what your in, every man and there dog knows what an M3 is, its nice to be a bit stealth ( but not too much )

A mate at work was looking at teslas and I mentioned they were a bit slow, he said your A4 probably cost more anyway...I nearly made him deaf shouting "S4, not an A4!!!", followed promptly by a "quicker than an RS4 as well, 480BHP, 3.5 0-60..."
He either thought "wow", or "nob"...I'm hoping the first...

I followed an old R reg Corsa, in eye catching 'hedge green' a couple of weeks ago. On the tailgate? A 'VXR' badge :smirk: Goon!

Chop. The other thing that most people miss is that the "little family wagon" can actually be a weapon. Thats what I love. I think the Avant is just a way cool car.

So did I chop. I always had Vauxhalls, culminating in a Vec VXR before I got the Audi. I'm all for people personalising/upgrading their cars, but a 1.2 VXR? Just behave yourself!!! lol

There is a grey 1.8T cabby around my way with an S4 badge on, has no S4 features at all and even a burnt orange looking soft top.

I don't think the current owner even realises haha.

Last year I seen a Vauxhall Astra with an "M Sport" badge on the back! haha

Last week parked next to a Q5 that had SQ5 brakes, rear valance and quad pipes. Went to that effort but left the s-line badges on the side and rear and the tdi badge on the back. And I quest didn't get around to changing the front grill either. (Yes I know the SQ5 is a tdi).

It was a 15 plate too. If you're going to go to that effort on a new car then at least go the whole hog. Or step up and buy an SQ5 if that's what you want, don't try and blag it.

Parked the S4 next to it on purpose to make him feel like a muppet :-D
