looking round the forum, it's been some time since we all reviewed our tyres, I'm in the market to replace the dunlops sport max on my 1.9tdi. And I'm after some guidance..

Keen to see what you fellow b6 are running on and your feedback on grip, tyre noise and importantly wear :)

Thanks

The rest of the forum will tell you about tyres , there's two new threads every week about the same old black round stuff .

We should have 1 tyre section instead of specific model tyre choice and be done with it , lol .

I've nearly killed a set of Vredestein Ultrac Vortis in 235/40/18 after 30k miles on a hard driven Quattro 180 and I highly rate them! Still fairly grippy- only a slight shimmy on bumpy wet corners and still quiet.

I too am on my second set of Vortis on my 1.8T Quattro, got them for 77 each delivered from Oponeo, 235/40/18 extra load, running mine at 39 psi all round and wearing spot on. Not had any issues at all, even running in the snow in Wales over Xmas!

Mitchelin Pilot Super Sport's or PS2's always get my vote, if you don't think they're worth the cash and/or get through tyre's quickly all my friends rate Kumho's.

I always used to run Michelin pilot sports on mine but recently changed to Pirelli P zeros, I much prefer them all round.

Falkens for me 245/30/20 can't afford anything else .. Plus there a very good tyre for the money

Thanks all for taking the time to commenting on this post, has anyone had good run in with matador on their cars and also dunlops sp sport maxx

I used to run Dulops in the early days , they were a good all rounder but didn't last too long.

Contintental ContiSportContact5s all round on mine (1.8T 190 Quattro), sticky, assured, inoffensive sound, only put 500 miles on so not sure about wear but I don't buy for economy, I buy for performance and safety

Snap, CS5s on my 2.5QS. Fronts about 16months old and down to 4.5mm, back at 5.5-6mm but only about 12months old. Fantastic tyre, no doubts about the ability of them whatsoever.
