First signs of starting to waver

You can get your deposit back as technically they have to provide a service and complete a transaction which you can decline at any time and ask for any monies paid to be returned. It is against the law for any retailer to withhold such monies as no transaction has or is likely to take place unless they can prove that they have incurred unrecoverable costs due to your negligence or a situation where they cannot reasonably recoup any incidental costs to them. On a car order they don't have a leg to stand on, there is no reasonable excuse for them to be unable to sell such at full price.

In other words a good dealer will give you the money back no questions asked. If they don't inform them that you know your legal rights, will be reporting them to Audi UK and trading standards and watch that money suddenly appear in your account. If anyone has lost money in this way contact citizens advice and claim it back, even if its up to 6 years ago.

Thanks for the post. I ordered over the phone/email. Since giving my details and spec, I paid the 1k deposit and have no other communications in 4 days. I did hope for a build week, does this take time? I'm now on holiday for 2 weeks so it's looking messing.

I did get 1k of the price after ringing around, but June seems so far away..

"Does the bw take time?"....Well I ordered on the 16th of April after paying a deposit in January.
I still have no build week. So yeh it can take some time.

I am the same, ordered 18th April, still nothing, the lack of information of any type is annoying, even if it is into next year would be nice to know, sold my car in June too, currently running about in the wife's Up!

Does the dealers CIS not show either of the build weeks?

The Vehicle Detailed Information IS available for evert dealer, and should show TWO build weeks; the original, placed another time of ordering and the current, which is against the production plan.

ask you dealer for a screen shot - they should oblige

Had a long chat with the dealer today and they have two orders with exclusive colours, neither have build weeks, all others with standard colours have build weeks unless they were just recently placed.
He was quite honest and said realistically not to expect the car until March, he gave me the option to cancel, I have decided to stick with it.
Not sure I can run the Up for another 7+ months, might have to work on the wife and upgrade it as well.

not acceptable is it? I wonder if they are having problems.

Southend Audi have just lost another sale, cancelled my order today as no build week with a promised Nov delivery. Sadly I doubt I'll manage to be in an RS3 when I need to replace the current transport end of October. Although they are pushing me to stay on board with one of the three cars they have available, mythos demo, another mythos that's code 70 for sept delivery or a sepang that's due oct/nov. sadly spec doesn't do it for me and if I'm spending £45k + I'd prefer my spec not someone else's.

Tbh not even thought about it. tempted to get a small van on a year or two deal and see what's what after that.

Was only 2 weeks ago but silly me believed the dealer/salesman when he said he could get me one for nov.

Ah right.

Unfortunately a long wait & patience is required now when ordering an rs3.

Ah... There are some dealers who really have no idea on how to manage customers expectations!!!

It's amazing how relaxed you feel, once you've placed an order :)

I had to wait 6 months for my S5 and TTS before that .... so 6 to 8 months for an RS ain't so bad.

I'm quite happy running round in the S5 till mine arrives next year .... there are worse places to be :bluecar:

Had this email from my sales guy yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for letting me know, I’ve only just come back from holiday so have just seen your email. Your car still hasn’t been assigned a build week but looking at how current orders are going through, I don’t feel confident enough to say we could get the car any quicker than what has been advised below now.

I’ll get the guys to do the refund for you unless they can come up with an alternative solution that will keep you going until then.

I wonder what the alternative solution might be?

Hopefully they'll give you an R8 V10 Plus for a few months! But I doubt it...

I had a deposit on a high spec 8V S3 till I decided it wasn't exciting enough, asked for a deposit back and received it quickly from Tonbridge Audi with no problems
