You can get your deposit back as technically they have to provide a service and complete a transaction which you can decline at any time and ask for any monies paid to be returned. It is against the law for any retailer to withhold such monies as no transaction has or is likely to take place unless they can prove that they have incurred unrecoverable costs due to your negligence or a situation where they cannot reasonably recoup any incidental costs to them. On a car order they don't have a leg to stand on, there is no reasonable excuse for them to be unable to sell such at full price.
In other words a good dealer will give you the money back no questions asked. If they don't inform them that you know your legal rights, will be reporting them to Audi UK and trading standards and watch that money suddenly appear in your account. If anyone has lost money in this way contact citizens advice and claim it back, even if its up to 6 years ago.
^ All of the above from a legal eagle who specialises in consumer law, just trying to find the link for more info.
