Grabbed myself a decent set of Rs3 calipers, pads and discs.

I have a 1.4 Tfsi 09 plate.

Are the calipers a straight swap or do adjustments need to be made?

Thanks.

ive just put them on my s3, you need ttrs discs as the rs3 discs are a different offset but I'm not sure if the 1.4tsi use the same hub, I'm sure someone will know

Cheers

As above! The RS3 and TTRS calipers are the same but the discs are indeed different as said above.

I have RS6 wheels and it looks like they are going to fit.

Will they fit the TTRS discs fit the hubs?

Yes TTRS discs fit the hub since so many people use them already.

RS3 calipers and pads, with TTRS discs.

Not being funny but looking like it will fit won't cut the mustard. Without spacers I think the only 18" wheel that they will fit under is the TD Pro Race 1.2, and that's with balancing weights moved.

I was wondering if there was any adaptors I needed.

So your saying ill need 19's insted of 18's? I understand where your coming through it did look like a tight squeeze but i thought it would fit

if the hub is same as s3 then they should fit straight with ttrs discs. on 18" you'll need to remove wheel weights and probably get spacers.
oz ultraleggera wheels fit without spacers, but it's a tight fit, and i moved the weights on the side.
there's a thread with lots of info on ttrs/rs3 brakes and wheels...

Neuspeed rse12 fit with no spacer. Prefacelift s3 wheels fit with 12mm spacer. All 18s need wheel weights moving more central on the wheel barrel

So if i fitted them and then out 19s on insted of 18, the weights wouldnt need adjusting and it would litterally be a straight swap Am I correct?

Depending on offset and width it's highly likely you will need spacers as well to prevent the caliper hitting the inside of the spokes. These calipers are very wide.

How much of a spacer would you recommend?

Cheers for the help.

What brake is your 1.4? I'm just curious as the car will stop dead with the rs3 brakes!!
That thought had ran through my mind as well. RS brakes on a 1.4 is utterly ridiculous IMO but up to him what he does to his car I suppose.

What has power got to do with brakes. The car still weighs the same and will likely do similar speeds to most people on the roads, just won't get there as quick

I did think maybe RS brakes are a bit over the top, maybe S3 brakes are better choice to go for?

The OP has already bought the RS3 setup and it would be a shame to have to sell and go for S3 setup. Saying that, swapping to S3 setup will get rid of all fitment issues. S3 brakes will fit under almost any 18" wheel.

Yes I think having RS3 brakes would be a bit of a bad choice due to it only being a 1.4 tfsi.

If i got S3 calipers would i just use S3 discs, obviously i would of used TTRS discs insted of RS3 discs because of the offset, does the same apply to the S3 discs or do i need different discs?

Cheers

Id say so mate tbh, but if you wanted the TTRS setup thats your choice dude and you have every right to do so. Would be the best stopping 1.4 in the UK haha :rockwoot:

Getting hold of S3 calipers for all round looks like a long shot though. Cant find anywhere lol.

Yes it would be the best stopping 1.4 lol

You found a RS3 set, S3 sets come up regularly for sale. Or R32 ones, which are the same.
