What would you do if you knew your neigbour was driving an untaxed car?

Answers on a post card please...

Why are you even wasting energy on someone else's car tax issue, it's not your problem IMHO, go use the time for better things, they will get found out automatically these days, just of course steer clear of there car incase also no insurance.

Because the little tw@t damaged my car.

Nope, I paid out £350 to get it fixed. Only just got it back, he is now driving a different vehicle and I did a search and found it is untaxed.

Well its your decision of course, if you have proof he damaged then why not task him or claim against, for me if you had 100% surety with evidence then this conversation wouldn't be happening.

Just remember I'm not against you & I certainly don't support the other, had same issues myself with young kids purposely damaging.

Yes I can see the annoyance, I feel your pain, but maybe dashcams would be prudent &/or CCTV IP linked, its a necessity for self gratification after the debacle I experienced.

However, think about it more, tbh sometimes its not worth the time given to it.

Yeah, I know you are right Brother! Just still very upset about it all...
I am going to be getting a CCTV setup but that is just another minefield to explore when I know F all about CCTV...
I'll just let nature run it's course and hope the PoPo catch him with their PNC... LOL

Foscam.co.uk grab an IP cam with night vision or 2 grab a cheap synology nas unit 1-2 drives, sorted, I can supply/fit the system, but it depends how much you value your property, I spent considerable money on my IT setup but well worth it.

All I want for my set up is....
Two cameras.
One front and rear of property.
Night vision.
Four weeks of high def recording.
Remote viewing via WiFi.
And DLSR control.

I would like to buy an out of the box plug n play setup if possible?
As I said I know nothing about CCTV, but I want to protect my property...

If it is untaxed I guess it is uninsured so just report him and be done.

Thinking about it though... He is probably stringing it out until the end of the month to tax it maybe...

I have reported cars in my street! One or two were sorn and still parked on the main road - It's an **** to park anyway. If your neighbour is a mate then it's a different story otherwise I would report..

He is no mate of mine Brother!
I have no worries in shopping him in! We all have to pay tax, so why should he get away with it...

To be honest, that's the wrong attitude to have. With dwindling Police resources, we're all being asked to step up and get more involved in policing issues ourselves. Being reliant on an ANPR picking this guy up is lazy and irresponsible. If this guy has no road tax, then his insurance is void. If his insurance is void, he shouldn't be on the roads, and the OP has every right to report him, and save others the distress of having to claim because of being hit by an uninsured driver.

However, with that being said, I am not sure with few people displaying tax discs these days having all moved online to check/renew VED, how exactly the OP knows his road tax has expired?

This info is readily and easily available. Just go to dvla website. All you need is reg number and make of vehicle. It tells you if the car is taxed and holds a valid mot. Simple as that

Punch in your reg/vin dude...

Peace...

Someone on the estate near me has two cars (a BMW and an A4 convertible), both on the same registration plate.

The BMW hasn't moved for some time, but still concerned and don't know what to do...
