Help me pick my exterior sepang/panther

What combo?

  • Sepang blue with black pack no roof rails

Original had sepang with black pack and grey wheels no roof bars.

Have changed to Panther with no black pack and with silver roof rails grey wheels dunno what to do

The wife says black looks dull and plain but thinks the blue too common? What should I choose guys?

I like Sepang with black pack and panther with black pack .... Both look great IMO.

I don't understand the attraction with roof rails though - for me they do nothing for the car - spend the money on something else (IMO of course).
 
I have sepang, I hate Sepang, everybody has ****** Sepang. :)
Seriously, I would pick any colour other than Sepang, unless you like to follow the crowd. Almost every new S3, S4, A4, SQ5 etc. I see is ****** Sepang! Saw 4 on Tesco's earlier and felt ashamed to get into mine as it's now that common and people will just assume I have no style and follow the crowd etc.
So my advice, get the black and be special.

Roof rails make it look slightly more Estate like which is good imho.

I think it depends whether you want the car to stand out or go under the radar. Blue looks good and will attract attention, the black is for stealth.

Both look good though.
 
Panther black with black wheels and red calipers no roof rail looks the biz. if i didnt go for daytona grey that would defo be my choose
 
I like the roof rail for looks mostly but would consider a small roof box if I took it with the family on a holiday but would prob stick to the merc b class for that.

Think I'm going to stay Panther. A like Daytona but wife said no???
 
Mine was the same to be honest. Sepang was a big no, to common apparently, Nardo she also didn't like. So Catalunya it is

Snap would have went red but next door was first in aye for a new car and has a red s3 on order.
White a no and not sure the silver would suit it? Never actually seen one in silver even in a pic
 
Floret silver is a stunning colour.

It's much darker than some silvers.

I saw it in a tts recently and it really looked superb.

If your into white / grey / silver it's worth checking out.
 
Panther black looks great but I'd only get it if I had a garage, not so great hiding chips/marks/swirls either.

I do like Java Green, Cataluyna red but it reminds me of S3 a bit and I think it would seem like the rs3 would look like an s3 with those paint options from certain angles if I'm honest.
 
Be garaged all the time only do about 3-4k a year. Plan to poss get xpel ultimate film on while front end and g tech the rest.

I think with the matt wheels and the chrome and allum the black rs3 will look very ordinary. The first think I specced was the gloss black pack. I did choose nardo originally but then changed to sepang. I would just go for catalunya if I were you. Your neighbour will get over it!

Sepang is the most popular colour choice after Nardo however it is a gorgeous colour!

My thinking was as follows:

Nardo - looks great IMO, but will be most common colour as FOC, looks a little flat in the sun
Glacier white - does look great but too many white cars around, most seem to be audis also!
Floret SIlver - too plain for a car like the rs3 which already looks quite subtle as it is
Panther Black - looks the business with gloss black pack, plain without. Will be a b*stard for swirl marks
Catalunya Red - Brilliant looking colour, just a bit too bright, will look great when polished up
Sepang Blue - As above, but not as much in your face, very rewarding colour when polished up well

Does it bother me that the sepang will be quite popular amongst RS3 owners....yes....will there be lots of RS3s on the road.....no!

Nardo is RS only colour though which is why I went with it. Should have all come like it imho eg no option :box:

I think I'm the only one who has ordered silver and the reason is I don't want to attract attention. My car is a daily driver and will spend most of its time in a public car park.
I find that silver is the easiest to live with once the new car shine has worn off (and picked up a few scuffs and scratches which are a nightmare on my estoril blue S3).
 
I could never own a silver car tbh, too plain! But we all have tastes and what a boring world would it be if everyone had the same as everyone else!
 
Mine will be Sepang. I like blue cars, as simple as that. Not a common colour where I stay at all.

However, this will be your car and your money so go with your instinct!!

Alternatively, yellow with black pack or merlin!!!

Am actually excited now but so long to wait. Will be looking for find some cars in Panther to go see to keep me going.
