anyone fitted an egr blanking plate ?

I've just bought this very blanking plate so hopefully it comes next week and I can get it fitted.

Will let you know how it runs with it on

Didn't make any difference on mine apart from throwing out a error code and that was with a genuine audi one.

If it's a full blanking plate you're going to need to get the EGR deleted via vcds

Guys which side of the egr pipe did you fit the plate, the side near the egr valve or the side near the maf?

Thanks

I don't mind getting it mapped out and deleted but the car has been remapped for some time now by Revo and they don't offer the egr delete on the blb engine.

Guys I have fitted the blanking plate on the bit circled in red, is that correct?

you would be better fitting one on the exhaust side of the engine as that's the pipe that the weld breaks on

Thanks for replying mate. Mine had already snapped and has been welded again.

Problem I have is with the plate fitted on egr side car has no power literally I push pedal to floor and nothing. Then all of a sudden it's full of power but then it goes again. Can't seem to find the cause of it.

Any ideas most appreciated.

You need to unplug the maf sensor for it to drive OK again, the ecu has a problem with the reduced egr flow,so unless you map it out it won't drive right.

Thanks for responding Steve. Would there be any problems to the car if I drive with maf unplugged?

Bumping an old thread...

Has anyone had any problems with blanking the egr on this side? As this is where I was planning on putting mine as I've this whole assembly off.
