Replaced DV today with aftermarket one but don't think the spring rate is wright.

Standard part seemed to be hesitating juddering under low boost when pulling away in 1st gear. And making a bit of a hissing noise.

Standard one seems to be holding pressure ok though as done a test with it and when covering the top opening it holds the spring back until I take my finger off and the spring will move back closed.

Very confused lol

What make is the aftermarket one? most are rubbish and leak... you would have been better off replacing with a new OE one

There are two DV threads in the FAQs worth a read

It's one of ebay. I took a punt on it to see what it was like but it seems to be no the best.
The thing is the standard one seems to be working fine when tested. But when on the car makes strange noises.
My car is a bam and I'm sure it's re-mapped with a full system and decat. So would a standard DV not be under sprung?
Thanks for the help tuffty

Nope... std DV is fine... doesn't leak... the spring thing is a myth... stiffer spring requires more vacuum to open... means less response and less affective and doing its job...

Cheap ebay tat DV will leak... stick to a brand new OE valve unless you really need bling then a Forge 008 or 007 with a green spring

Wow I always thought that the standard DV was not suitable for anything above stock performance. Just out of curiosity. What is the max bhp pis that the standard will take?
Maybe it's not the DV so I'll get a scanner and see what's showing.
I'm not going for bling anyway. It was just to fix a problem. Performance I'm happy with so now onto bodywork etc.... Just refurbed my wheels and now looking for a set of coilies to lessen the wheel arch gaps lol. Thanks again for your help.
