So steer clear of it then on standard ko4! Does sound awesome tho
anti-lag isn't road legal either is it? I know rally cars have a switch to disable it when driving on public roads...

I'm sure the new M3 and M4 turbo has anti-lag in which case it must be road legal?
My guess is these are using an air bypass system similar to that used on modern WRC systems, which would be impractical to retrofit to our cars.
This method is much kinder in terms of EGTs and stresses to the turbo.
It was Top Gear or some other 2p motoring show I watched it on, and I'm sure they said it dumps fuel into the exhaust side to keep the turbine spinning even when you aren't on the throttle. I don't know if thats known as an air bypass system, or if they got it wrong but they definitely said that (whoever it was) lol.
The basis is to continue fuelling after throttle off then ****** the ignition and burn the fuel in the exhaust producing enough gas flow to keep the turbine spinning but you need air as well and an air bypass system is kinder to the turbo and can be adjusted more easily.
The result in terms of off throttle boost is similar and the TG explanation is what you'd expect.
I run Antilag on my S4 bi turbo. It's something I did a couple of years ago, i've not turned it on for a while, i never found the time to fully tune it.
Principle is if you go on boost for a x number of seconds, when you come off you are still on boost for x number of seconds. It will only activate one coolant temp is above a certain temp, and will deactivate if EGT gets too high. I can adjust it so that it's anything from a few pops and crackles to over 1 bar of boost.
