I've just got an S4 rear diffuser for my A4 avant. I was just wondering who else has fitted a twin exhaust with a diesel and if they removed any silencers or cat internals?
Also what do folks think of the exhausts on the new A6 and A7s as I was thinking of going for something like that?

I'm about to fit new tips to my system, basically dual twin exits.
I have removed everything and have gone straight pipe, but I have a quick release system and can put the rear silencers back on anytime in under 10 minutes.

And one of the A5 converted to twin single tail pipes.

So did everybody else remove their silencers and decat then?? Was it more responsive? How was the noise?

Back box removed but left the centre one in, all stainless from cat back.
Re. sound, a little more of a rumble on acceleration, wasn't looking for any more than that to be honest, after all it was a 2.0 tdi.
A5 sounds a bit more throaty though.

Anyone got pics from underneath on how it was all connected?

Mine is a B8 3.0TDI Quattro. I removed the existing system from the centre joint to the back then Cobra sports of Sheffield added a custom made quad tip system all in stainless. Kept the Cat and Dpf then just two back boxes the rest is straight through.
The diffuser and chrome trim were from Sheffield Audi.

I'll try to get a pic of underneath and post it soon.

This is my 3.0TDI with DPF delete and straight pipes with no silencers.

To say it's loud is an understatement, but when people mention that it sounds better than a Nissan GTR which was also there on the day, it's all worth it ;)

Sorry to say that the guy talking stole the show. I can't get enough of that announcers afrikaans accent :D

i like the twins - what's the cost involved & skillset level?

Just had exhausts done and am disappointed. Looks great but sounds like someone blowing down a hosepipe! I know it's only a remapped 2 litre diesel but I didn't expect it to sound like that with the back boxes missing. Anyone else had the same problem?

Put the boxes back on should quiet it down

Not that easy as I only have one for a start and it would mean chopping up the pipe I've just had fitted. So much for a 'throaty' sound, its ****** terrible

Get two custom stainless back boxes put on, more expense I know, but at least you won't be dodging driving the car because you don't like the sound of it.

I will buy the exhaust off you...
