Hi all,
Over the last few days Adam (Administrators) and myself have created a new group on audi-sport.net in relation to Audi Oil Consumption Problems. This group can be accessed via the menu drop down list on tablets/mobiles and on the Groups link at top of screen on PC. Please have a look and comment. This is related to Audi's problem in general and not aimed at a particular model or engine. Please take a look..
Thanks,
Mike.

Hello. I'm currently fighting with my audi dealership. Can someone give me some advice. I bought the car in September, used, with one year left warranty to expire in November. I drove the car home off the lot and by the time I got home the light was ON. In December they did the measure test and found the consumption was 0.37 for the first 1000km. The problem continued. I took it in June and they did the same test. This test does not seem that accurate because when I calculate the consumption its around 0.89 based on the tank size? What specifically are the repairs needed so my lawyer can include this in the letter I am going to serve them with? Also, how can I accurately measure my oil consumption? I tried finding the tank size and I have the km for when the tank was full and when the light came on. Sorry to ask stuiped questions but I'm not really experienced with cars.

What engine do you have as the sump capacity will vary depending on the engine?

Whilst there is no physical dipstick provided on the C7 version of the A6 it is possible to retofit one. I would suggest the only way to accurately measure the consumption of oil is with the physical dipstick as the electronic gauge in the MMI system is too inaccurate to be sure that you are refilling to the same point each time. Also Audi maintain that 0.5l per 1000km is perfectly acceptable, and unfortunately higher oil consumption has become a fact of life with the latest engine (emissions focussed) technology. That said on my previous A6 I had to add oil once in the first 19k miles and never in the next 17k miles

Hi. I have an A4 Allroad 2.0TDI, 2010.
I have the KM value at full and empty, and I know tank size is 4.5 L I get oil consumption at over 1L/1000km. I add oil every 650 Miles roughly.
I have my appointment with Audi, third one on the issue. They've done two oil measures. They get 0.37 on the first 1000km.
I need to know what to ask for in terms of repairs. I don't want them to try and take advantage of me and my warranty expires this November.

Hi Faye,

Have sent you a pm but didn't realise your car is a diesel!
Not heard of many TDI's with very high oil consumption as yet...

No its not diesel. I think I messed that up. Its embarassing I don't know more about cars! I had an audi A4 wagon before and it was perfect, it was a standard so I decided to get a newer automatic. On my contract it says:
A4 Allroad
2000ccm 211cv/155kW 4 cylinder turbo
FSI gasoline, 7 speed box
Automatic S tronic Quattro
Its 2010 just reached 90,000km.

I should probably go thru the blogs to see if this model is 'affected'. My dealership is saying NO, not this model
