Copied and pasted this from another forum, (with some changes to suit) as it was almost exactly the same symptoms that I am experiencing.

I have a constant issue that im sure is related to the ABS system.
Car: 2003 B6 S4

The symptoms are as follows and occur at every start up

- The car beeps 3 times with the Computer module showing a large red flashing “ (!) BRAKE “ and the red (!) light flashes also.
- The ABS light is illuminated
- The TCS light is sometimes illuminated, but not every time.
- The Speedo does not show speed, mileage does not increase with use.
- The steering is heavy at lower speeds.
- Rear parking sensors do not operate during fault condition
- Sat nav works, but does not seem to know that I am moving, map location does not refresh
- Radio volume comes on loud

I have had this problem before which turned out to be the ABS module, this was sent off to BBA Reman for repair and all was good until recently when the symptoms returned.
The ABS module was removed and sent back to BBA Reman under guarantee, they tested it and reported no faults
Front left ABS sensor was replaced at the same time using genuine VAG parts

Scanned with VCDS and get the following codes.

Address 01: Engine
- 18057 - Powertrain Data Bus: Missing Message from ABS controller: P1649 - 008 - implausible signal
- 16885 - Vehicle Speed Sensor: Implausible signal. P0501 - 004 No Signal/Communication - MIL ON
Address 09: Cent. Elect.
- 01312 - Powertrain Data Bus. 79-00 - Please Check Fault Codes
Address 17: Instruments
- 01316 - ABS Control Module. 49-00 No Communications
Address 76: Park Assist
- 00625 - Vehicle Speed Signal. 27-00 - Implausible Signal

Is it possible that BBA Reman have made a mistake regarding the ABS module not being at fault? if not, what should I be checking next?

Could be a fault with the abs pump not the module .. You checked the fuses also

Yes, checked fuses, all ok, if the fault was with the pump I would expect to see faults recorded, VCDS cant connect to ABS module which makes me think it must the ABS module or the wiring, just thought I would ask on here in case anybody else had experienced these issues and resolved them.

I had 3 beeps and abs light on and all was needed was a steering angle reset
