Hi Guys

My original stereo in the car was playing up, so i replaced it with an aftermarket one, i got the iso adaptor and I think its half amped, however the sound out of it was never earth shattering!!!

This stereo has now died after many years of use, so I am hoping to replace that tonight, I have read that its better to wire the rear speakers up directly to the head unit.

My question is does this literally mean, take wires from the speaker and feed them through to the stereo and connect them to that or can it be tapped into on the plugs already there??

If anyone can advise asap that would be great as I want to try and do this tonight.

Thanks
Nilz

You would have to run wires from the speakers to the head unit give me a text if you want me to take a look ..... What adapter lead have you used cuz mine is seriously loud

Half amped uses the amp in the sub to drive the sub and rear speakers with the fronts powered from the headunit... this I think is the case on both bose and non bose... if full bose then use an adaptor... bose setups use 2ohm speakers that a normal headunit will drive properly

Autoleads do an adaptor that should suit any combo tbh...

The car doesn't have bose, it is half amped, I will get the stereo fitted tonight and probably give you a shout later @A3-Lee

I will try and see which adapter it is from memory I think it's the 409??

Use the PC9-410 I think it is? Wire the rears to the HU.

Pc9-410 is for fully amplified Bose ..... If you have a half amplified you can use either

Pc9-409 - rear speaker to rca

Pc9-401 - rear speakers to head unit - from my experience these are a lot louder

OK so it looks like I have the pc9-401 fitted. The stereo is fitted and sounds OK,however if it can sound better directly wired from the speakers to the head unit then obviously this would be the way to go. I will try this over the next couple of days.

Thanks for your help guys.
