Can anyone recommend a company to remap an S3 in the north west area? I'm traveling over end of this month and ideally want it done as soon as I'm off the ferry. Im looking for a proper job to be done, rolling road tests before and after etc.Been on the AMD site and they have a partner in warrington called TDI North, anyone used them? They are predominantly Honda tuners but dabble in vw/Audi remaps by the looks of it on the site but can't really seem to get any feedback or evidence of previous stuff they have done, ideally I'd like someone to do it who has a fairly good knowledge of these cars too just incase it's not exactly 100% right beforehand and may need any parts/work directly before its mapped. Anyone got any recommendations???

Ok I'll look into it! I'm not heading over for nearly 4x weeks so that should be enough time to book a space somewhere. What sort of price am I looking at,at this guys place do u mind me asking?

I went to Rick who was great, for stage 1 for my S3 8P... think it was around £300 or £350 can't quite remember. Give him a shout and he can quote you!

Yeah I've just been looking on his site there now, seems to be the sort of thing I'm looking for,I'm gonna give him a ring in a few minutes.

Ok,so I gave Rich a ring this morning,he seemed a nice fella, was really helpful on the phone, everything was going good it seemed,so I told him I'm heading over in 3.5wks,then he tells me he's going away next weds for a month......noooooo! So my options are, rebook my return ferry journey for a couple of days later(he arrives back 2x days after I'm supposed to be coming home,so he kindly said he'd juggle some jobs around and fit me in on his first day back which was very good of him) but this means I have to pay extra money for the ferry then find stuff to do for 2x extra days and get a hotel for 2x extra nights,or branch out a little further and go with my original plan and still try to get it done on Friday 28th August. So,can anyone recommend a place that is worthy of taking the car to within say a couple hours drive(maybe more?) from Liverpool?

Awsome gti in manchester are very good specialise in audis check their website or give them a call :)

Yeah I've been on their site, looks pretty impressive. Have you had work done by them before? Basically I'm looking for some feedback from people who have had experience with any companies! Awesome seem to be quite expensive from what I see! £400 for what any other company charges a maximum of £300 for! Are they worth the extra £££?

My advice on mapping is pay peanuts get monkeys. You get what you pay for. I drove from Newcastle to Gloucester to have my S3 mapped By Bill @badger5. These cars are old wrinkly farts now and need custom tuned, not just a map flash and job done.
IF your totally stuck, get a decent flash like APR at Awesome OR Revo (use their dealer locator on their web site)
Good luck!

Yeah I understand what u mean, don't get me wrong I'm willing to pay for the job to be done right. The only trouble I have,is that I've got a hotel booked in the Lake District for 3x nights,so the plan was to hop off the ferry in Liverpool and 'she' can go off round the city shopping for a few hours and I can shoot off and get the business done! I've looked into going off down to Bills place in Gloucester and getting it done but he's 3x hours from Liverpool so if I disappear off for the whole day and arrive back in Liverpool late at night to then have to drive up to the lakes there might be a bit of tension in air!!!

You have 3 right choices in the UK, badger5, unicorn, and R-tech.
Any other choice is less than optimal.

You've really got yourself in a tight spot with dates etc

You've kinda answered my question there a bit! I was waiting to see if anyone mentioned R-tech! My mate had a car done by them a few years back and he reckoned they were spot-on but he knows f@£k all about cars! And the fact that they mapped it in the hotel car park he was staying in in Blackpool didn't really set my mind at rest, although he did say that they said to him, next time he's down their way just pop in and they will do the rolling road checks for free at any time(which he did next time he was over on the mainland!) I've already checked they are within reach of my timescale,so u reckon they are worthy of a shot then? If so then I'll ring them today and book a spot for that day!

Badger 5 is who I can recommend from experience. Currently dealing with my stroker build. It's worth the drive!

Rang R-tech this morning to book the car in for Friday 28th........they are closed Friday 28-Tuesday 2nd of sept! And are fully booked the first week in sept! So I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen on this trip at the minute! Might have to be a badger trip on the cards!

Talk to Paul at Riverside Racing in Speke (Liverpool) , they are a REVO dealer, but also do bespoke maps.

I had my Black A5 , REVO'd there , and am waiting on a Bespoke map for my MY2015 S5 , as currently nobody (REVO, APR) does one yet

Thanks for the heads-up mate,I gave badger a ring right after I wrote my last reply.......... He's fully booked up till mid-October! So I had it in my head that it wasn't happening this side of Xmas as I won't be heading over again this year I reckon. So I gave them guys u mentioned a bell and had a chat with them, after a few hours they rang me back to confirm they can fit me in on the day I arrive which is very handy as they are only 20mins off my ferry! So that saves me a ton of time and fuel costs,so thanks again for that!!!

Well done, mate. That's a result, you won't be disappointed either. Paul really knows what he's doing , and will look after you. Let us know what you think of the car after its done.

Will just say that the generic maps supplied by some companies while decent enough code aren't really up to coping with the 'age' factor and up to date mods for 1.8t's...

Companies like this tend not to keep up with our older cars and the generic maps are designed to extract the best from fresh engines but with the huge differences in wear and tear and the latest mods available to 1.8t's... this is why custom mapping is the preferred choice mapping 1.8t's these days...

Information worth a read...
