so basically as the status says.. I'm wanting to get my car to remapped to stage 2 maybe 2+.. but I'd like to know what brakes to go for or what you would recommend. . I'm trying to get all the parts I need together and then just cracking on with it :) any help would be appreciated and also any upgrades u can think of that would help.. I've currently got a tb miller exhaust with hi flow sports cat.. my revo induction and a dv is ordered.. looking for a decent intercooler too cheers

Depends on how much you want to spend, and what you have in mind....

As above, the TT-RS kit offers good value and good performance, and VagBremtechnik can also offer you very good performance brake kits at decent prices, and a few people here are using YellowSpeed kits as well.

If you want a step on from that, the prices start to go up rapidly...

I wouldn't spend money on anything in between the ones above, and things like the AP kit, which is around £2.5k,and the next beyond that for performance would be the Alcon kit at around £3.5k.

Intercoolers.....again you can pay a lot of money, but the best value currently is the Wagner, and the biggest(not much more expensive) is the ProAlloy.
The APR doesn't offer more but is much more costly.
My money went on the ProAlloy.

Thanks guys I do like the looks too of the ap racing.. would they just be a straight fit onto my car.. I've got the 2.0tfsi quarto. Would they fit OK with 18" alloys too and if you don't mind Alex. . What did you put on the back brake wise?

AP don't list a kit for the A3 2.0TFSi,so you would need to speak to Alan Stacey at AP Racing.

The kit fits perfectly with the TD 1.2 rims I'm using but needs a spacer for stock alloys.

The rears I use are Forge 330mm 4 pot kit.
It's one of only a few rear kits and seems fine.

One thing you can be sure of with AP is they will stop you,and the calipers can be completely rebuilt if required......the VWR kit I had could not,and this one is way better.

Thanks for the input guys.. I'll have to look into it then further

Give Alan a call, and he'll tell you if they have a suitable kit.
The lead time is usually 6-8 weeks to get one ready....they build to order.

Just had a look at some forge ohe's on the bay and read the description and it says this

"These kits do not have CE / TUV approval and are recommended for race use only"

Would this cause a problem when getting an mot or not?

This should not be an issue.

If it is I may be in trouble....LOL

I hope it's not lol

To put it another way there are countless aftermarket brake sets out there most of which will not be CE/TUV compliant.
