Next RS4 to be fitted with a turbocharged V6

No suprise really that the engine is downsizing and going the turbo route, I don't think people would mind if they could keep the 8K + RPM soundtrack but thats not really going to be happening with a 3.0 twin turbo.probably have to make do with some synthesised electronic noise.

It'll be a slightly lighter car with between possibly 450 & 480 bhp, the biggest change will be the increase in tourque it seems according to the Audi powertain department, the guys won't tell me much as at the moment its the best kept secret they have lol.
 
Confirmed as avant only again!? I'm really not a fan of Audi as a company, I'm going to go buy an M instead.
 
I would think they would be look to beat the newer M3's for power as it seems there is a little private war with Audi, Merc's and BMW to out do each other for performance.
 
This has been Audi's failing for a number of years (B7 RS4 aside), its not all about power, the chassis needs to be right too.

What BMW have done overall and common opinion dictates they got it right, they have recently added xdrive to the 3 series too.

Fingers crossed the new boss's at Audi choose to develop the newer cars as an all round package.
