hello all,

Recently posted up a question about what's the difference between an 2.5 avant sport and se, happy with my response.

However I'm trying to source a decent Sport and there all coming out as mainly auto.

What's the issues with tuning an auto? Ie..remap and exhaust.

Auto might be my option

Personally I'd be patient & wait for a manual Sport. You definitely want to steer well clear of a multitronic, although I'm not sure if the 2.5 Quatro came with that box.
 
Manual for sure.....the multironics are temperamental beasts and a reason why there are so many of them
 
Nothing wrong with the Quattro auto but you need to be sure you could live with one cos its quite different from a manual and thirstier

I have a multi 130 tdi and touch wood it's been trouble free :) and it drives ace!
 
Regular gear oil changes help a lot............more so on the multitronic
 
I had the manual before the current auto and its hard to choose so would go by the type of motoring you do.Auto is best for mostly town and short trips but manual wins for long runs.I think I would avoid the multi cos of all the horror stories
